PROJECT

LISBURNPRIMARY&COMMUNITYCARECENTRE

CIVIL & STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING

A lbert Fry Associates provided civil and structural engineering consultancy services for OHMG’s benchmark integrated healthcare facility, Lisburn Primary & Community Care Centre. The project comprised 13,000sqm of consultation, treatment and administration space over four storeys above basement level parking with an adjacent, linked multi-storey car park. The centre accommodates eight GP practices and provides non-emergency health services. The structure of the health facility comprises an in-situ reinforced concrete flat-slab arrangement, which was selected to provide ease of installation of complex building services. The multi-storey carpark has a steel-framed structure, selected to provide long-span open parking decks. The key challenge

facing the team, and successfully met, was constructing the buildings within a busy, live hospital campus while ensuring no disruption to normal operations. Commenting on the completed project, Jim Kerr, Director for Albert Fry Associates said, “ I am proud of the dedication of all of our staff in maintaining delivery of our services under pandemic restrictions and the contribution this made to successfully complete the scheme on programme.”
