King's Business - 1952-05

Even if one is such a thief, if he will | humble himself, and take Christ as his personal Saviour, this sin of stealing and all other sins will be placed under the blood of Christ. (Fold the “ I” as directed.) Now we have a cross of red, repre senting the blood of Christ, covering all of our sins. Objects: A large capital “ F” and a pair of scissors. (The “ F” should be made from a piece of stiff paper, 20x24 inches. Fold, making the size 10x24. Along a line one inch from the folded line, cut upward for 15 inches to make the upright. The small crossbar should be 15 inches from the bottom, 4 inches in its horizontal measurement, and 2 inches deep. The top bar should be 2 inches deep and should extend 9 inches horizontally. There should be a one-inch June 15, 1952 L ife F or A L iar hook extending up as well as down from the end of the top bar, making a per fect “ I” when the top bar is cut off. Color the “ F” black on both sides. The inside of the top bar should be white. All below the top bar should be red, making a red cross when separated from the top bar. Fasten with thumb tacks to a wall or blackboard.) Lesson: What do you think this black “ F” represents?” “ It is black, and black reminds us of sin.” Yes, it reminds us of the sin of false hood, which means to tell lies. The Apostle Paul wrote, “ Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour” (Eph. 4:25). In Exodus 20:16, we read, “ Thou shalt not bear false witness.” Some people have to fight this sin more than other sins. Most people are guilty of lying more than they realize. This “ F” not only tells us of the sin j of falsehood, but it shows the secret of having victory over it. This pair of scissors will help us to understand how the liar may have victory. (Cut the top bar off, horizontally, where it joins the upright. Unfold, and you have a black capital “ I”. We now have a black “ I” . The one who is guilty of this sin should confess it to God, and bring it to the cross of Christ. (Open the remaining part of the “ F ” and it will be a cross. Put the “ I” |
