Rear Commodore
On May 4, the Marco Island Yacht Club had a presentation from members of the Marco Island Police Department, Marine Unit. Officer Josh Ferris was to do the presentation.

I had done a ride-along with Officer Ferris and found him to be thoroughly professional, really observant, very engaging and respectful in his interactions with the public. His performance, in my observation, was exactly what you want from a police officer in these times. Unfortunately, Officer Ferris had a family emergency on the night of the presentation and could not make it.
What might have been a disaster turned out to be a great success when three other officers, Lt. Matt Gallup, Sgt. Angel Casabona and Officer Bob Marvin came to the Yacht Club and filled in for Officer Ferris. They could not have been better. They were well- informed, engaging and made an excellent presentation. They answered all questions from the 60 members present, and the members were so happy they gave the MIPD a standing ovation. A truly outstanding night!! I hope to see you at the next Boaters Night November 9 th when Commissioner Rick LoCastro, our District 1 Commissioner, will discuss safety on our waterways.
Resuming Dates for Boaters Night and Sunset Cruises
• There will be no Boaters Night in June. • Boaters Night will resume on November 9. • Sunset Cruises resume on October 26. • There is also a Sunset Cruise on November 30.
