As part of Boston Scientific’s ongoing expansion at its Life Sciences Facility in Clonmel, Ardmac was appointed as the construction partner to transform fallow first- floor space within the Administration Building into a vibrant, multifunctional work environment. The project supported the client’s strategic objectives: to enhance staff amenities, expand lab and production areas, and improve circulation routes connecting new and existing spaces via the atrium and reception. The transformation delivered a high-spec, agile workspace aligned with Boston Scientific’s global workplace strategy. Previously unused floor area was reimagined to include open-plan offices, collaborative meeting zones, a Townhall-style canteen, and flexible working areas. Biophilic design elements, acoustic enhancements such as felt wall panels and baffles, and a white noise system were integrated to foster employee well-being and ensure privacy in a dynamic, open-plan setting. Ardmac also delivered a striking new entrance to the Administration Building, improving accessibility and creating a seamless connection between old and new areas. Executed within a live pharmaceutical facility, the works demanded full GMP compliance and minimal disruption to operations.
Ardmac’s experience in controlled environments, paired with its SMART project delivery methods, ensured the highest standards of quality and safety throughout. The fit-out included raised access flooring, new partitions, ceilings, specialist joinery, acoustic treatments, and full integration of client direct packages—AV, IT, and security systems—through detailed coordination and real-time communication tools. Impressed by Ardmac’s precision and consistent delivery, Boston Scientific extended the contract to include the construction of new cleanroom spaces and a circulation corridor.
