Ardmac was appointed to deliver IPUT’s first “Making it Work” flexible office hub at Pearse Street – a six- floor refurbishment that reimagines how commercial spaces can support modern working. This innovative platform offers short-term flexibility within a high-quality, fully managed environment that fosters productivity, wellbeing, and collaboration. The building was stripped back and completely refitted with new CAT A and CAT B finishes. Each of the four office floors is self-contained and includes open- plan workspaces, phone booths, meeting rooms, and kitchenette areas. The design prioritised natural light, clean air, and acoustic performance, enhanced through openable windows and smart BMS-controlled ventilation and lighting systems. A new decked terrace with glazed balustrades on Level 2 added valuable outdoor space. The lower-ground floor features a 2,000 sq ft CrossFit and personal training gym (“The Workshop”) and an auditorium for tenant and community events. The ground floor includes a contemporary reception area, creating a cohesive, branded entry experience.
Original Irish artwork was commissioned throughout the space, reflecting IPUT’s commitment to creativity and design-led workplaces. Artist Shane O’Driscoll developed a visual language that connects the interiors with Irish cultural identity. The project presented significant logistical challenges due to its location on a narrow side street with limited access and shared facilities. Deliveries and waste removal were coordinated using a wait-and-load system, and two new lifts required structural interventions and enhanced safety oversight. Despite COVID-19 delays and material lead-time issues, Ardmac delivered a sophisticated, future-proofed workspace that sets a new standard in flexible office solutions. “In dealing with Ardmac during a recent fit-out project we found the senior management and project teams to be very professional in their approach and at all times courteous and obliging – willing to go the extra mile to deliver on our requirements.
