Winter Park (FL) Alumni
ter Garden, Florida where I joined Walt Disney World Resorts Finance team. Over my first eight years with the The Walt Disney Company we were able to see our children excel in both school and athletics. I also performed well in several Financial Planning & Analysis roles with Dis- ney and accepted several positions of increasing responsibility with the company. My son graduated from high school and decided to attend his parents alma mater, Tuskegee University where he accepted a full Navy ROTC scholarship to study Computer Science. My daughter graduated a year later and received a full academic scholarship to How- ard University to study Mechanical Engineering. She was also offered a full scholarship to play Lacrosse. After our children went off to college, my wife was offered an expatriate position with General Electric in Lagos, Nigeria. After careful consideration, we made the move. After a year abroad, doing consulting and traveling in Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, I accepted a position to move back to the United States to help manage the Walt Disney Company’s Supplier Diversity program which focuses on identifying opportunities to increase the utilization of diverse suppliers in the supply chain and to promote economic inclusion. This year my wife and I are blessed to have both our children graduate from college. We were honored to see our son receive his commis- sion as an Ensign in the US Navy and overjoyed to see our daughter graduate cum laude with her BS in Mechanical Engineering. I believe that my life story is about enjoying the journey that God put me on with the people that matter most. With faith, confidence and courage, I work to exemplify the
true ideals of Kappa Alpha Psi ® each day. Journal: What motivates you? Spencer: I’m motivated by the fear of failure. To a lot of people, fear can be paralyzing, for me fear is a motivator.
