Did You Know? From the earliest days of Army Navy Country Club, the goal was to increase the number of holes at the Arlington campus to 27 and possibly 36 holes. In late 1931, the Club initiated an effort to add another 18 holes to the original Newman designed course. Efforts in this regard advanced to actual clearing of land until August 1932 when work halted due to the “depletion of funds”. In October 1933 the Club began seeking the services of a golf course architect. Two months later the Club engaged Herbert Strong to design the 27 hole course that is the basis of today’s course. Work commenced in 1934. For additional information, click here . To contact the ANCC Foundation, visit anccfoundation.org or call 1-888-506-ANCC (2622).
