A company inWendover ismaking a name for itself in Eastern Ontario for precision work in customized steel roofing and other specialized architectural products. Now it will get help from the federal government with plans to expand its operations. Precision Roofing and Siding Inc., in Wendover, received a $45,000 grant from the Eastern Ontario Development Fund (EODF). Pierre Lemieux, Conservative MP for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell, announced the funding approval March 4, during a Wednesday press conference, at the com- pany’s County Road 17 site in Wendover. “I’d like to stress the importance of small business for Glengarry-Prescott- Russell,” said Lemieux. “Precision Roofing is a great example of a local business hard at work. It is very important that we sup-
port small- and medium-sized businesses.” The family-owned operation specializes in manufacturing various architectural products and making custom steel roo- fing and siding. Examples can be seen throughout Prescott-Russell, in Ottawa, and other locations in Eastern Ontario. The EODF funding, provided through the Prescott-Russell Community Development Corp. (PRCDC), will help the company with expansion plans. “We have a vision of the next phase of Precision Roofing,” said Chantal Ouellette, company president. “The EODP grant will allow us to get the specialized equipment that we need for our business expansion and to help increase production.” The company presently has a workforce of 17. The next expansion phase will pro- vide four more jobs. Officials from the PRCDC, United Coun- ties of Prescott-Russell, and Alfred-Plan- tagenet Township also attended the March 4 event.
