Blue, for water, will give ten litres of water to a child; green, for food, will supply seeds used for a vegetable garden for a family; white, for income, will provide a financial literacy workbook to a woman in the village; red, for health, will provide vitamins for moms-to-be; and dark blue, for education, will provide school supplies to a child. The bracelets come with a ‘track your impact’ number, so buyers can see how their donations help. The St. FX social justice club will be heading to We Day, at the Canadian Tire Center in Ottawa, on April 1, where kids can be a part of a caring new generation of global citizens. “Craig andMark Kielburger, the founders of Free the Children, will be there along with some politicians, singers and actors,” said Oldford. “We don’t know what the line-up is yet, but we are so looking forward to it. The place was filled to the top last year.” “It was very inspiring,” said grade 9 student Farane Zaidi. “It’s amazing to see all those people together.”The club has been attending the annual We Day event for the past four years. “It was great,” said grade 9 student KelseyMacDonald. “We really liked it and are looking forward to going again this year.” Information about We Day can be found at www.weday.com.
