Nouvelles directrices à l’école de Casselman et à L’Escale le domaine de l’éducation depuis 22 ans, tant en enseignement au niveau élémentaire qu’agente de l’éducation pour le ministère de l’Éducation de l’Ontario (MÉO) et pour l’Office de la qualité et de la responsabilité en éducation (OQRE). Mme Legault détient aussi deux baccalauréats en plus d’unemaî- trise en enseignement et en apprentissage. Chantal-Christine Gratton a été nommée nouvelle directrice de L’Escale. Avant d’accé- der à ce poste, Mme Gratton a été directrice de l’École secondaire catholique de Cassel- man et par la suite, de l’École secondaire catholique régionale de Hawkesbury. Elle a 17 ans d’expérience à la direction et à la direction adjointe des écoles du CSDCEO. Mme Gratton est originaire de la région et elle espère innover, transmettre ses qualités de leadership et offrir de nouvelles possi- bilités à la communauté estudiantine de L’Escale. « Ces personnes dévouées sont des lea- ders dans leur communauté respective et sont des modèles de construction identitaire francophone catholique », a déclaré François Turpin, directeur de l’éducation et secrétaire, par communiqué de presse. La rentrée scolaire pour les élèves des écoles catholiques françaises du CSDCEO est le mardi 29 août 2017.

L’École élémentaire catholique de Plan- tagenet accueille une nouvelle directrice, Maryse Legault. Mme Legault œuvre dans Maryse Legault est la nouvelle directrice de l’École élémentaire catholique de Casselman. —photo fournie Une soirée spéciale avec orchestre célébrant la musique des années 1960 avec des teintes de rock, de surf et de musique pop aura lieu le 16 septembre, en guise de collecte de fonds pour le Dôme sportif de Russell. Les gens sont invités à venir revivre quelques souvenirs, en s’habillant dans des costumes qui représentent les années 1960 (Hippies, Beatles, Batman, etc.). Des prix seront accordés pour les meilleurs costumes. Les intéressés peuvent obtenir leurs billets chez Pierre & Fils, Embrun ou Pronto, Russell. Des billets seront également disponibles à la porte. Cooperative Hydro Embrun Inc. has applied to the Ontario Energy Board to raise its electricity distribution rates effective January 1, 2018. If the application is approved, a typical residential customer of Cooperative Hydro Embrun Inc. would see an increase of approximately $8.18 per month. Other customers, including businesses, may also be affected. Cooperative Hydro Embrun Inc. has also applied to change other charges, such as the microFIT charge. It is important to review the application carefully to determine whether you may be affected by these changes. THE ONTARIO ENERGY BOARD IS HOLDING A COMMUNITY MEETING The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is hosting a meeting on September 19, 2017 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 5 Forget Street, Embrun, Ontario from 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) so that you can: • Learn more about Cooperative Hydro Embrun’s costs and rate application • Find out how the OEB will review the application • Get involved and provide your comments about the application to the OEB THE ONTARIO ENERGY BOARD IS HOLDING A PUBLIC HEARING The OEB will hold a public hearing to consider the application filed by Cooperative Hydro Embrun. During the hearing, we will question Cooperative Hydro Embrun on its case for a rate increase. We will also hear questions and arguments from individual customers and from groups that represent Cooperative Hydro Embrun’s customers. At the end of this hearing, the OEB will decide what, if any, rate increase will be allowed. Distributors such as Cooperative Hydro Embrun typically apply for a full review of their rates every five years. Any rate changes for the years in between are made by applying an OEB-approved formula which is tied to inflation and other factors intended to promote efficiency. You may not get notice of future rate changes made by applying the formula. The OEB is an independent and impartial public agency. We make decisions that serve the public interest. Our goal is to promote a financially viable and efficient energy sector that provides you with reliable energy services at a reasonable cost. BE INFORMED AND HAVE YOUR SAY You have the right to information regarding this application and to be involved in the process. • You can review Cooperative Hydro Embrun’s application on the OEB’s website now. • You can attend the OEB’s community meeting (date, time and place set out above) where you can ask questions, make comments and voice your concerns. • You can file a letter with your comments, which will be considered during the hearing. • You can become an active participant (called an intervenor). Apply by August 28, 2017 or the hearing will go ahead without you and you will not receive any further notice of the proceeding. • At the end of the process, you can review the OEB’s decision and its reasons on our website.
