KAPPA NEWS: GUY L. GRANT AWARDEE—ROBERT T. SENIORS III
F irst and foremost, I would like to thank my Lord and Savior God. I would also like to acknowledge my parents’ Robert and Trenice Seniors. Addition- ally, I would like to thank my advisors Dr. Carl Goodman, Brothers Alton Royal, Herbert Bailey, Ernest Lane, and a multitude of other Kappa men that were involved and invested in my progression throughout my col- lege career. And of course, I have to acknowledge the Alpha Xi Chapter, that has enabled me to do much more than I ever expected on the campus of Florida A&M University. It is truly an honor and blessing to have this award be- stowed upon me, to be considered as having similar quali- ties as our revered Founder Guy Levis Grant evokes a level of appreciation that words truly can’t describe. Being able to stand before you all and speak on my short yet succinct career in Kappa is unbelievable. Being acknowledged has having characteristics that resemble those of Guy L. Grant and being conferred with this award affirms that “to whom much is given, much is required.” Luke 12:48. And I un- derstand that with this requirement I must go out into my
community and world and give back to those that have given so much to me.
I would also like to thank the Southern Province Polemarch Brother Bertram K. Orum and Brother John Burrell for their assistance in my progression. I couldn’t go without mention- ing that I am currently in my first year of medical school at Morehouse School of Medicine and will be sitting for an examination in a couple of days. But, I made it my purpose to ensure that I could come and stand before you all today and receive this award. Lastly, this award also serves as a testament that if it weren’t for where God has brought me from and where He is taking me, this wouldn’t have been possible. And this truly a step along the way and I must continue to walk along this path and develop into the man I should be. Thank you all for al- lowing me to give my remarks.
