Dear Friends and Colleagues:
Most of you are familiar with this USGBC’s Global Conference, Greenbuild. This year Greenbuild 2013 is being held in Philadelphia. This is the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building. This year’s conference will take place November 20-22 at the LEED Gold-certified Pennsylvania Convention Center, with former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton giving the opening keynote address. Started in 2002, Greenbuild features three days of inspiring speakers, invaluable networking op- portunities, industry showcases, LEED workshops and tours of the host city’s green buildings. The conference has been hosted in major cities across the US, including Chicago, Boston, Phoenix, Denver, San Francisco and even Toronto, Ontario. Because the conference has not been on the East Coast for five years, and due to Philadelphia’s proximity to New York City and Washington, D.C., conference organizers are expecting over 30,000 attendees. They will come from all over the country and world, but about one-third will be from the Mid-Atlantic region.

This year’s theme, Greenbuild Nation, celebrates green building as a global movement. The idea is to unite today’s green building leaders behind a shared sense of how a sustainable built environment can contribute to a healthy, prosperous future.
