Le Plan officiel actuel du canton a été approuvé en 2010. La révision officielle du plan mettra à jour et affinera les objectifs, les politiques et les annexes du Plan officiel afin de s’assurer qu’il est conforme à la déclaration de principes provinciale de 2014 et met à jour les questions d’intérêt local. LES TERRES SUJÈTES comprennent tous les terrains situés dans la limite municipale du canton de Russell. TAKE NOTICE that the Township of Russell invites all interested persons to attend a Special Meeting of Council and a Statutory Public Meeting in order to consider revisions and provide input on the Township’s Draft Official Plan pursuant to the requirements of Section 17 (16) and 26 (3) of the Planning Act, RSO 1990, as amended.

An Official Plan provides direction for the growth and development of the community and where land uses (e.g. residential, retail, business, parks) should be located. PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The Township of Russell is undertaking the legislated five year review of its Official Plan as required by the Planning Act. The Township’s current Official Plan was approved in 2010. The Official Plan Review will update and refine the goals, objectives, policies, and schedules of the Official Plan to ensure that it is consistent with the 2014 Provincial Policy Statement and updates matters of local interest. THE SUBJECT LANDS include all lands located within the Township of Russell municipal boundary. ANY PERSON may attend the Special Meeting of Council and/or the Statutory Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan. If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Corporation of the Township of Russell on the proposed Official Plan, you must make a written request to the Clerk of the Corporation of the Township of Russell, Ms. Joanne Camiré Laflamme, 717 Notre-Dame Street, Embrun ON K0A 1W1. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Corporation of the Township of Russell before the proposed Official Plan is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Russell to the Ontario Municipal Board. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Corporation of the Township of Russell before the proposed Official Plan is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party. For the second year, in a combined effort for the upcoming Ladies’ Night event on May 5, Russell’s Beyond the House held its Spring into Summer charity drive. On Saturday April 22, local businesses teamed upwith the garden and floral design centre to raise $850 for the event: coffee was provided by Poppa Bean andmeat by Barry’s Home Hardware for the barbecue.
