Local soccer clubs in Prescott-Russell and others have an open invitation to take part in and help organize International Sports Day celebrations in the region. Local Immigration Partnership SDG PR (LIP SDGPR), a non-profit group for the counties of Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott and Russell, is seeking community partners with local sports clubs and others to help organize and host special events in the Five Counties region in March leading up to April 6 which is International Sport ROCKLAND | All for one and one for all and all for a good cause. The Bluewater Friendly Kids Charity Tour- nament kicks off Jan. 26 in the gymnasium at École Ste-Trinité. The tournament is an invitation-only event for members of the local martial arts school and a select group of other schools. This year’s proceeds will help Maxime Alarie, a club member, take part in Mission to Mexico project organized by L’Escale secondary school and Église Ste-Trinité. Lo- cal high school students taking part in the mission will work at an orphanage, help- ing with rebuilding or renovation work at the facility and also assisting local teachers there provide education to the orphans. Each student taking part in the mission has to raise $2500 to cover the cost of their travel and living expenses while in Mexico. The Bluewater tournament will have a do- nation jar on-site to collect for Alarie’s share of the mission expenses. The tournament itself has registration at 8:30 a.m., with the first sparring sessions at 10 a.m. Kid-friendly charity tournament invite
