Two Champlain Township residents have been charged for their alleged roles in the theft of drivers tests from the Hawkesbury test centre earlier this year. Debra Ranger, 41, was charged with theft under $5,000 and criminal breach of trust while Michael Nittolo, also 41, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime. The arrests were made following an investigation by Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police Constable Lise Durocher. The investigation began after the detachment received a complaint from the test centre to the effect that a former em- ployee had allegedly stolen written drivers tests in order to sell them. An investigation by Constable Lise Durocher ensued for the following months, resulting in the arrest of the defendants April 21. Police are seeking the public’s help in finding the person or persons who set a fire at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute early last Thursday morning. At last report, the Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police detachment had no sus- pects as investigators continued to probe the incident. Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call Detective Constable Alain Potvin at 613-632-2729. Nobody was hurt after the fire was set at about 1:15 a.m. May 2 in a laboratory at the high school. VCI arson
