posing and babies, and together they equally build the experience from start to finish. “We really have the same drive, the same vision,” Kari says. “So it’s very easy to work together.” For newborn sessions, they also prioritize safety and patience. They have CPR training and describe their approach as “baby-led,” allowing each baby’s needs and temperament to determine the pace of the session. More Than a Digital File For a couple whose business began during a time when so much of life was happening through screens, Jeff and Kari have a particular appreciation for photographs that make their way back into the physical world. They encourage clients to print and display their images rather than leaving them buried in a camera roll. “You have to live with these images,” Kari says. “You can’t do that when they’re just sitting in your phone.” They've seen the impact themselves when returning to a family's home years later and finding photographs from an earlier session still hanging on the walls. During their consultations, they talk with clients about colors, styling and the spaces where images may eventually hang. For families who prefer a more traditional newborn portrait, Jeff and Kari can bring lighting, equipment and backdrops into the home to create a studio-style setup without taking the family elsewhere.
