From packaging design to process and manufacturing technologies: closing the loop on sustainability

Focus on the first step for PET Bottling Lines: Innovative solutions for the Preform Handling Clear focus on merging logistics and the Preform Line as an upstream process oft he blow-moulding machine. As the first contact for Preform Handling, an insight into this process optimisation is presented. Various solutions for Preform Handling such as pallet transport or connection to AGVs are the pulse of the future. The complete Preform Handling is also becoming more and more demanding due to rPET, alternative raw material or preform deisgn, among other things.

Bringing recycling, design, and technology together is a SIPA added value. The current challenge in developing and producing new PET bottles is to meet the high demands on sustainability in the filling markets. Paolo De Nardi will report on exciting development projects for bottles made from post- consumer material. The energy-efficient XTREME RENEW technology, which processes rPET flakes directly into preforms as part of the filling line, is of great benefit to achieving the highest level of sustainability. Finally, thanks to the wealth of experience from traditional injection and blowing of preforms and the exchange with the engineers, the SIPA team prove their line competence and realise packaging with an optimum of sustainable characteristics.
