Panthers will need to work on their defense

In fact, the Prédateurs might not have ended up in the top spot in the regular standings, but they came in second for the most goals scored with 157 goals. The Panthers were able to get the first win, 9-6, Friday. They took a 4-1 lead in the first period. The Prédateurs came back in the second scoring three goals while giving up two. The score was 6-4 after 40 minutes. In the first few seconds of the third peri- od, La Pêche scored a fifth goal before Em- brun scored three. With six minutes left, the Prédateurs scored a six and final goal.

The Embrun Panthers will need to work hard at their defence if they hope to beat the La Pêche Prédateurs in the playoffs. The series is now tied 1-1. “We had expected that La Pêche would be strong offensively,” said Panthers’ coach, Jay Campbell. “All the games against this team have ended with many goals.”

Isidore. Saturday, the Cougars offered more resis- tance as the game went in overtime after a 2-2 tie. Mathieu Desforges scored the win- ning goal in the fourth period to give a 3-2 win to Saint-Isidore. The other goals were scored by Félix and Yanick Lalonde. Sunday, in Vankeek Hill, it was apparent that the Cougars had already thrown in the towel. The Aigles flew out with a command- ing 6-0 win. Philippe Ménard scored two goals for Saint-Isidore. The others were scored by Richard Beaulieu, Mathieu Desforges, Félix Lalonde and Maxime Séguin. In the event the Aigles lose the fourth game, a fifth will be played Thursday, at the Saint-Isidore Arena, at 8:15 p.m.

Sean MacDonald notched two goals in the game. The other Embrun goals were scored by Matt Eberley, Shawn Ennis, Rob- bie Gifford, Matt Hamelin, Francis Lafond, Dexter MacMillan and Shane McPhee. The Prédateurs tied the series with a 5-2 win on Sunday. The Panthers were barely able to get on the scoreboard. They fired 50 shots on the La Pêche goalie in total, two went in during the last period. Dexter Mac- Millan and Francis Lafond scored for Emb- run. The third game was scheduled for this Wednesday, at La Pêche. The Panthers will be at the Embrun Arena this weekend for the next two games, Friday at 8 p.m., and Sunday, at 4:30 p.m. Saint-Isidore By the time this article is published, the Saint-Isidore Aigles will most likely have disposed of the Vankleek Hill Cougars in the first round. The Aigles were already leading the series 3-0. The fourth game was sched- uled this Wednesday, in Vankleek Hill. The Aigles started off with a 5-2 win on Feb. 19. Le Pavillon La Croisée Embrun a tenu à remercier le Club Optimiste d’Embrun pour les huit filets de soccer qu’il a récemment offert aux élèves de l’école. La valeur de ce cadeau est de 750 $. Johanne Verner, membre du Club, a initié ce projet pour la Journée de l’enfant à l’automne 2012.
