Welcome to Laramie! We hope you have a great time! A lot of memories have been made here at Come To The Source... Left to right: Valentine Red Rogers, Plenty Try, My Drifty Pride, Ruano Rojo Behind: Wyo Blue Bonnet Many successful breeding programs have started out with horses from The Source. We started out as one of the few places you could get horses with Blue Valentine bloodlines. Our vision took a lot of hard work and planning. People tell us these horses are the best they have ridden. They write in with stories how their kids are learning to ride or competing on a horse they bought from us. Some come back every year, and others are finding out about these horses for the first time! We are amazed at the continued support, and thankful to be able to have a sale that brings in customers, old and new! Many successful friendships have formed here as well. At the core is a shared love of good horses with good minds. We are fortunate to have met so many people over the years, and thankful to have a great place to meet. Welcome to Laramie! GRATEFUL FOR THE CONTINUED SUPPORT...

Wayward Ike

Our concentration of Driftwood blood started with the Stanley and Randy Johnston mares. These mares were a blend of Driftwood, Poco Speedy, Orphan Drift, Sak Em San (son of Peppy San), Doc’s Jack Frost (sire of Sun Frost) and Captain Crusade. We bred these mares to our Blue Valentine stallions.

Stanley Johnston crossed these stallions on his Orphan Drift mares.

Wyo Blue Bonnet made a name for himself with his gentle disposition that he passed along to his foals. Many of his sons and daughters are outstanding individuals in many breeding programs. His influence on our breeding program was hard to beat.

2006 Buckskin Stallion. Dart has been an essential part of my program in preserving Texas Blue Bonnet at 16.6% blood crossed with Blue Valentine. He has thrown correct, stout foals with a disposition that is so easy to train and willing to please. Dart is as gentle as can be with his mares and the foals out on pasture. In the offseason, he is the babysitter of all the younger colts and a couple of other studs. 2009 Blue Roan Stallion. EZ is a wonderful stallion to be around, whether it’s breeding in the pasture or gathering cows. Most people make the comment that they would have no idea he is a stud. He has a unique pedigree going back to Blue Valentine with lines of MR Roan Hancock, Rowdy Blue Man, and add in some Rip Rip and Texas Blue Bonnet. His foals are quiet- minded, mature and easy to get along with. 2008 Blue Roan Stallion. He’s got a great disposition, super easy to be around, and puts great heads on his foals. Some of my mares are a little coarse and he puts some refinement in them without losing bone and flesh. He is homozygous black and roan, and 52% Blue Valentine. His foals are friendly and trainable.

Bath Brothers Ranch Randy & Laurie Dunn

B

ath Brothers Ranch - 159 years, same family, same ranch.

When the Bath Family arrived in this country in 1867, they brought horses. For over 150 years now, horses have grazed this same prai- rie. We feel blessed to be the 6th, 7th and 8th generations on this ranch and have the opportunity to continue raising great horses and passing along traditions. My ancestors, the Baths, came to Laramie in the spring of 1868. The railroad followed in the fall, and the Territory of Wyoming was formed. The Baths built the first wood- framed building in Laramie in 1869 before moving to the Little Laramie Valley to start raising cattle and horses. The Bath Brothers had a long and strong tradition of raising good using horses and reputation cattle. In the 1930’s, they raised Remount Horses for the government. They began raising Quarter Horses in the late 30’s, and became AQHA mem- bers in the early 40’s. My wife, Laurie, and I continue the 150+ year tradition of raising quality horses on the same ranch. We still use the family’s original AQHA number (7965) as our Life- time Membership, and carry on the same principles that have been handed down for eight generations in the Bath family. Our horses are easy keepers with good minds, speed, bone, and immense cow and athletic ability. Our ranch is one of the oldest work- ing ranches in Wyoming and our brand is one of the oldest recorded in the state. Our horses are raised in big, open pastures alongside our cattle. Our program includes grandsons and granddaughters of Blue Valentine, who we have suc- cessfully crossed with Driftwood to make exceptional multidiscipline performance horses. We use the horses we raise and feel they offer the genetic strength to perform and compete in any discipline or arena. We are ranchers raisin’ good horses! ~Randy Dunn

Proven Quality and Trainability Bath Brothers Ranch has an enduring dedication to raise horses with good minds, athletic ability, bone structure, and gentle dispositions. Our horses are raised in large natural Wyoming pastures alongside cattle, badgers, coyotes, and antelope. This exposure produces, intelligent, and highly adaptable horses that remain reliable in diverse situations—from day-to-day ranch work to high-stakes rodeo events. Billy Ward, a seven-time NFR pick up man, exclusively rode Bath Broth- ers horses for years, prior to his PRCA retirement – picking up major rodeos including Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD) and the National Col- lege Rodeo Finals, as well as mounting dignitaries at the CFD Parades. Many of our horses have also partnered with teams from Frontier Ro- deo, consistently demonstrating their stamina, trainability, and pedigree excellence. Bath Brothers horses have also proven themselves across multiple PRCA disciplines, competing at major rodeos across the country with cowboys and cowgirls like: Guy Allen, Micky Gee, Derek Begay, Nick Rowland, and Julie Kisner to name few.

Commitment to Excellence The Bath family continues to prioritize foundation bloodlines, durability, temperament, and color, blending historic tradition with contemporary needs for performance and ranch use. Horses from Bath Brothers Ranch are known to be easy keepers, strong, and highly trainable, making them ideal choices for ranchers, enthusiasts, and professional competitors alike. Our 28th Annual Come to The Source Sale has something for everyone! For anyone seeking horses with proven pedigrees, reliable dispositions, and exceptional versatility, Bath Brothers Ranch offers a rich legacy of quality and heritage that has been refined for over a century, ensuring every horse embodies the best of the

American Quarter Horse tradition! Whether you are looking for Stud or Performance Prospects, Ranch Horses, Broodmares, Weanlings, or Color, Color, Color… we have it all!

AQHA 50-Year Cumulative Breeding Award S ince Bath Brothers Ranch started registering offspring in 1943, we have registered over 900 horses. Our ranch has bred and raised over 5000 head dating back to the Ranch’s establishment in 1868. Since the 1800’s, all our horses have carried the Running M brand. Bath Brothers Ranch has used the Blue Valentine and Driftwood lines as the corner stone for our breeding program. Gooseberry, Ruano Rojo, Leo Hancock Hayes and Blues Beard were all sons of Blue Valentine that built our program to what it is today. Thanks to our good friend and sale partner, Chip Merritt, who owned Gooseberry, we raised Valentine Red Rogers. Through Ruano Rojo, we raised Like A Son Of Blue, and through Leo Hancock Hayes, we raised Hancock Wiggy Bar, Hancock Red Wiggy and many other grandsons as well. From Stanley and Randy Johnston, we incorporated the bloodlines of Orphan Drift and Poco Speedy. My Drifty Pride came to us from Porter Willis breeding program. The horses we’ve raised from our Blue Valentine Driftwood cross have sustained our program for more than 40 years. In that time, we produced AQHA World Show qualifiers in working cow horse and barrel racing. Along with countless winners in multiple events in PRCA Rodeos.

sorted, we haul each group out to large native-grass pastures, with the stallions, for the summer breeding season. As each trailer door opens and the mares and foals head to grass, the stallions anxiously wait for their gates to open - muscles rippling with athleticism and commandment - ready to go to work. Once turned out, there is a blur of power and dust - hooves thundering like rolling drums and ground trembling under the charge, as they gather and get reacquainted with their mares.

Rusty is originally from The Hidden Valley Ranch in Ashby, NE and spent many years working side by side with his father training horses for Dick VanPelt. Anna, a Colorado native, started apprenticing as a horse trainer in 2010 in Potter, NE. Merritt Quarter Horses The Start of A Tradition...

It all began in 1880 when my great-grandfather, Vince Hayes, trailed a herd of good mares from Ft. Riley, Nevada to Thermopolis, Wyoming. His two sons, Buster and Lourie, continued the tradition of raising and riding top horses and sought ways to improve them. Around 1951, they purchased Texas Blue Bonnet, a son of Joe Hancock. They started crossing him on their own mares and in 1955 a Patron mare bred to him produced a foal named Plenty Coup, who went on to also produce many top colts. At about the same time my grandfather, King Merritt, brought one of the first Quarter Horse stallions, “Old Red Buck P-9” to Wyoming. As a respected horseman, King had judged the first Quarter Horse show in California. He and all his children were well known for their horsemanship skills. King and his son Hyde brought additional stallions to Wyoming, including Ambrose and Patron. Hyde inherited from his father the satisfaction of riding a good horse he knew he had raised.

Vince Hayes in the late 1800s.

In the fall of 1956, Ken Gunter gave Del Haverty the pick of the Red Man colts. Del picked a blue roan stallion named Blue Valentine. Del trained Blue to rope calves, tie-down team rope, and haze dogging steers. Blue later was most famous as a steer roping horse but Del always felt he was a better calf horse than anything. Del sold half interest in Blue Valentine to Buster and Lourie Hayes. Buster and Lourie stood Texas Blue Bonnet, Plenty Coup,

Buster and Lourie Hayes

and Blue Valentine. It was quite an experience to see these studs out with the excellent set of mares they had accumulated. The tradition continued when my mother, Dede (Buster’s daughter), married my father, Hyde. Hyde started breeding his Ambrose mares to Hayes’ Plenty Coup, then took that cross and bred to Blue Valentine. This program produced the stallion Gooseberry, Crow Creek (Lory’s top calf horse), and many good mares. Hyde and Dede then bought the other half interest in Blue Valentine from Del. Hyde felt like it was a great privilege to rope steers on Blue. In 1970 Hyde roped at his last Cheyenne Frontier Days on Blue. Everet Shaw, who rode his share of great steer roping horses, told Hyde that Blue was the best horse at Cheyenne that year. Hyde and Del both felt that Blue started out of the box quicker and could catch cattle easier than any horse they had ridden. The combination of Blue’s athletic ability and Del’s training made him hard to beat.

A successful breeding programs doesn't happen overnight. As you know, it's a lot of hard work, planning and sacrifice. Our history with horses goes back generations, and now Come To The Source is hosting our 28th sale. We're extremely blessed with hundreds of customers across the country. The love of Blue Valentine horses is widespread. When Madison saw how many successful breeding programs had started out with horses from The Source, she said, "Blue Valentine should be in the AQHA Hall of Fame." She submitted one of the best nomination packets they had seen. Her hard work paid off...Blue is now a Hall of Fame member! It's an honor we can all share.

Blue Quarter Horses Carrie Frisbee www.blue9quarterhorses.com

I was born with the love of horses in my blood, my passion for horses began at an early age. I was riding before walking and planned from a young age to raise quarter horses. I moved from Wyoming to Colora- do to study at Colorado State University, and after graduating, I found myself working for KeSa Quarter Horses.

In 2010, I started working with Sam Shoultz and gained ex- perience with Hancock bloodlines, which became the focus of my breeding interests. After several years with KeSa and the Come To The Source group, I acquired broodmares of my own and joined the Come To The Source sale, introducing lines based on these horses.

Initially, I intended to keep one stallion and around ten mares, but the herd has expanded well beyond those num- bers. Horses are like potato chips; you can’t have just ONE! Over the past decade, since purchasing my first Hancock broodmare, I have continued to focus on blending Texas Blue Bonnet, Blue Valentine, and Driftwood lines, occasionally incorporating modern cutting blood. I have become skilled in the use of embryo transfer technology in hopes to help preserve these older bloodlines.

Continuing the Legacy Well its been a year that is for sure. The Cottonwood fire pretty much wiped us out. Luckily we didn't lose the house, and only lost one horse, but we did lose the shop, all our hay, fences and corrals. The night of the fire we ended up running horses all the horses we could down the road. Unfortunately we had four two year olds and Junior, one of our senior stallions, cut back and run back to the corrals. When I got back to the house, the two year olds were okay, but Junior passed shortly after from smoke inhalation. That night we spent until about 1:00 in the morning catching and leading everyone back home and rigging up pens with anything we could. We were incredibly lucky, family and friends came out and helped us get some pens rebuilt, so that as mares started foaling we could at the very least give them a day or two separation from the broodmare band. The donations of hay, and feed were also amazing.

We lost every bale, and over the coming weeks people from all over the nation delivered hay and feed. We are getting started on a shop, and replacing windows on the house. The fire was about 12 feet from the house and melted the trim, and broke a few windows. We hope to get mares and young horses turned out in November for 60 days, and least let them stretch their legs a bit.

The big news in our program is that we will have all new breeding stallions next year. We’re excited to see how the new studs will do in 2028. Dale is still riding every day, just a little different with no mares to go check. He has been working with some young horses, and they are coming along great. We will also have 3 coming 3 year olds who will at least get introduced into the broodmare band. Lennan is a big help, or at least she thinks she is! She is growing fast and helps out by being entertaining at the very least. The work never ends, and it seems like right now it’s all about just trying to keep our heads above water. Hopefully 2027 is a better year and things start coming together for us the next few months.

We appreciate everyone's support and thoughts over the last few months. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone!"

I'd like to say a long distance Hello To Dianne Van Pelt. She and Dick gave me a great opportunity to carry on the L7 bloodlines.

Grandson of Dash Ta Fame. Great-grandson of Dash For Cash. That with our Blue Valentine breeding gives you a unique opportunity. Our all-time favorites are in his pedigree - Action Blacky, Romeo Blue, Diane Valentine. He's our granddaughter's favorite. We've been trimming him, but he still toes in.

It becomes repitious writing these comments as this is another excellent Blue Valentine pedigree. But it shows you how we have contiued the legacy of Blue Valentine and how much we believe in these horses. Drought is forcing us to sell ones we shouldn’t. We will regret this. 5 panel N/N

I’m very pleased with how this filly is growing. By the young Goose Is Dun, a Plenty Try grandson, crossed on a Blue Fox Hancock daughter, she’s built with power, substance, and a sweet, curious disposition.

This stud colt is one of Kathy's top 3 favorite colts we've ever raised. Five years down the road, we will be sad we sold him. We are keeping a full brother to him. His mom is one of our favorites. She is big, flashy and heavy-made. We can send you more pictures and videos on request.

These horses are bred to be used. The Ward family has ridden over 25 sons and grandsons of Valentine Red Rogers in the toughest rodeo arenas in the country. He's got the making to be a great one that’s gonna go all day. 5 panel N/PSSM 1

This first-time momma did not disappoint. Hopper is friendly, curious, and people-oriented, with a willing nature that makes him easy to like. His pedigree is full of Texas Blue Bonnet, a proven line known for producing fine working horses.

We call Foxy Lady Blues "Moon Pie" and she is Chip's favorite young mare. We rode her quite a bit when she was two. Her blue roan stud colt is a good-looking prospect. He is hz black, already eating grain and will be ready to go home with you in August!

This is an unusual pedigree for us. Not our breeding but a ton of PROVEN speed. She has produced a few outstanding foals for us. She needs to be in a program that’s trying to produce speed and barrel horse prospects. An oppotunity to pick her and Frank up and start that program. Exposed to SLR Frank James.

Fancy and full of presence, this colt glides across the ground with smooth movement and carries a pedigree packed with greats, including Bonny Blues, Plenty Try, and Blue Fox Hancock. As a later colt, he may stay on his dam an additional 30 days at no cost to the buyer, giving him extra time to grow and get the right start.
