• Reviewing and reporting on feasibility studies and development plans • Investigation of building related problems and issues including the provision of advice upon testing and more detailed investigative works • Provide professional advice, assistance and specification for suitable forms of building repair, maintenance, refurbishment and other building related works suitable to the type and status of the property (Prefab, Scholar, Listed) ensuring regulatory and compliance • Building surveys, reporting and advice to Schools, Colleges and others as required • Project delivery including budgetary and financial control, ensuring good value is attained • Acting as client’s representative in the management of larger project work and overseeing of feasibility studies and development plans Advisors and contractors • Advise Schools and Colleges on the selection and appointment of contractors and professional advisors which typically include: Architects, Building Surveyors and structural engineers • Approval of advisors and contractor’s appointment’s and ensuring that all appointments are robust • Vetting and review of advisors and contractors to provide a pool of competent organisations that may be drawn upon, from time to time • Oversee the terms and conditions of engagement of professional consultants on projects and closely monitor consultants’ performance • Liaise with consultants and schools to ensure that the Diocese policy is adhered to and that the best interests of the school are protected • Managing disputes and negotiations over works Compliance • Liaise with the School Health and Safety advisors and assist the Diocesan Health and Safety Coordinator as required • Keep under review all relevant legislative developments which impact on Diocesan school properties and liaise with consultants to ensure compliance with such new regulations as well as existing regulations and legislation
