Brisson. L’évènement est organisé en tant que levée de fonds pour le programme Communities That Care (CTC) de la Fondation Valoris. Les gens sont encouragés à couvrir leurs bicyclettes de lumières et de bâtons lumineux pour une pro- menade éclairée dans le village. L’activité est pour toute la famille et aura lieu, beau temps, mauvais temps. Members of the Kajukenbo/ Embrun Fam- ily Karate Centre have been granted a new place to practice in Place d’Embrun, after the old dojo, located at 931 Notre-Dame, was reduced to cinders in a fire on Sunday July 24.
Following the fire that destroyed the building, many parents and students were worried about the future of the martial arts centre.

Not only is this activity a great way to stay fit and learn discipline, it is also very competitive. In October, twelve students of Sigung John Lianos are set to participate in the world championships which will be taking place in Dublin, Ireland. Without a place to practice until then, these students are faced with a great disadvantage. Fortunately for members of the centre, a new location was found barely 24 hours after the fire. Located under Lucky 7 in place d’Embrun, this new dojo will offer double the space the old dojo did. Members of the club and the community joined in during the following days to help renovate the new

Inmore unfortunate news, it would seem that the fire resurfaced in the old building on Tuesday July 24, collapsing a portion of the
floor and destroying whatever equipment had been left untouched in the dojo, includ- ing uniforms, boxing gloves, etc. According to some parents present during the renova- tion of the new dojo, whatever donations can be made to the centre and its members would be greatly appreciated.
