Une tradition vieille de 20 ans
Claude Léger a un passager peu ordinaire sur sa Yamaha Venture, le père Jean-Louis Gosselin qui a procédé à la bénédiction des motos lors d’une messe consacrée à cet effet, dimanche le 31 mai.
Le père Jean-Louis Gosselin bénit les motocyclistes et leur passager à l’occasion de la 20 e bénédiction des motocyclettes à l’église Saint-Paul de Plantagenet.
Environ 120 motocyclistes ont pris part à la 20 e Run d’eau bénite qui a débuté à Plantagenet, le 31 mai dernier, avec la bénédiction annuelle à l’Église St-Paul, du village. Le père Jean-Louis Gosselin a présidé la cérémonie. L’événement annuel du chapitre fran-
cophone de l’Est ontarien de Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) proposait ensuite aux participants une randonnée jusqu’à la Fromagerie St-Albert, soit environ 100 km de routes secondaires afin d’appré- cier la région. S’il était un temps où l’activité était aussi l’occasion d’organiser un tirage
dont les profits étaient remis à des œuvres caritatives, aujourd’hui la Run d’eau bénite tient simplement de rendez-vous aux ama- teurs de motos qui, du même coup, font la connaissance de passionnés comme eux. Les membres du chapitre se réunissent à chaque deuxième dimanche du mois au
restaurant Le Chardo à Alfred et décident à cette occasion des sorties qu’ils comptent organiser. Les personnes intéressées à se joindre au groupe peuvent communiquer avec Gérald Léger, au 613-524-3492.

On Saturday, July 11, from1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the public will get the opportunity to experience unconditional love by giving a furry friend a forever home.The committee of the Hawkesbury Dog Park is putting on an Adoption Day at the Hawkesbury Dog Park with the help of a few friends. “We are doing a lot for dogs because we love them,” said Danielle Larocque, dog trainer and part of the committee. “They teach us so many things like patience, tolerance, and unconditional love.” Kiko Dog Rescue and Adoptions, Sit WithMe Shelter Dog Rescue, Danes in Distress, the SD&G SPCA, and the SPCA Ouest de L’Ile are pulling forces to find homes for some of man’s best friends.
