A FAMILY’S KNOCKDOWN REBUILD.

After nearly 20 years of living with family, Sehr and Kashif decided to start looking for a home of their own. They searched for an existing property in the areas they loved but couldn’t find a home that ticked all the right boxes. Eight years earlier, they had purchased the neighbouring property of the home they had lived in for over two decades as an investment. When their search for the perfect family home stalled, they decided to knock it down and rebuild with Clarendon Homes. “After all our searching, we decided this was the best way to have a home in the area we loved, that felt like our own, that had a perfect layout and our personal style.”

WHY CLARENDON HOMES? EXPERIENCE, QUALITY & INCLUSIONS

Clarendon Homes was a name Sehr and Kashif were already very familiar with. Kashif’s parents and uncle had built a Clarendon home two decades prior. This gave them confidence in Clarendon’s quality and service. But they still did their homework, comparing hundreds of designs and multiple builders. “We shortlisted two companies and went through the pros and cons of each. I even created an Excel spreadsheet!” said Sehr. In the end, they chose to build with Clarendon Homes. While Clarendon wasn’t the cheapest option, their strong reputation, quality construction and great standard inclusions made the decision easy. “Clarendon wasn’t the cheapest option, but their long history of building homes reassured us that we were making the right choice. We had also seen the quality of their homes firsthand through my parents and uncle,” said Sehr.

A HOME DESIGNED FOR THEIR LIFE

Their Site Manager was always approachable and provided regular updates. “Our Site Manager was fantastic and his service was exceptional. Whenever he was on site, he would take the time to give us updates in person. He also called us every fortnight to provide detailed progress updates. His professionalism and communication made the process much smoother and reassured us throughout the construction stage,” said Sehr.

LOVE COMING HOME For Sehr and Kashif, stepping into their new home was a moment they will remember forever. “I love having my own home that is the exact design I wanted and decorated to my tastes. I really enjoy coming into the house. It definitely has the wow factor,” said Sehr. When asked about her favourite part of the home, Sehr struggled to pick just one. “It’s like asking a parent to pick their favourite child! But if I had to choose, my absolute favourite part would be the kitchen and dining area. I love cooking, so the kitchen is my happy place and having a butler’s pantry makes it even more functional and organised. It’s the heart of our home, where we create delicious meals and beautiful memories,” said Sehr.

Sehr and Kashif chose the Sherwood 36, a two-storey home that offered everything they were looking for. The design includes four spacious bedrooms upstairs, including a master suite, along with a generous leisure area that creates space for quality family time. Downstairs, the open-plan kitchen, dining and family room flows seamlessly to the alfresco, making it ideal for everyday living and entertaining. Added features such as a butler’s pantry and home theatre further enhanced the space and functionality.

BUILDING WITH CONFIDENCE & SUPPORT

One of the biggest challenges Sehr and Kashif faced during pre-construction was the delay in obtaining approval from council. The application process for demolition and building approvals took significantly longer than anticipated due to a council staff member being on extended leave, which delayed their paperwork from being processed. Through it all, their Customer Service Consultant (CSC), played a key role in keeping them informed. “Our CSC was incredibly helpful throughout the pre-construction stage. She provided clear guidance, kept us updated on progress, anticipated potential delays and always had solutions to any challenges we faced. She was also highly responsive and clarified any concerns we had along the way,“ said Sehr. Once council approvals were in place, construction progressed smoothly and being right next door to the site gave Sehr and Kashif a unique perspective, allowing them to watch the progress daily.

“I love having my own home that is the exact design I wanted and decorated to my tastes. I really enjoy coming into the house. It definitely has the wow factor.”

Your home will undergo a rigorous quality assurance process throughout construction, with inspections carried out at key stages by a range of industry experts, including engineers, independent third-party inspectors, the Principal Certifying Authority (PCA) and our internal construction team. Third-party inspections are a critical part of our quality assurance process as they provide an objective assessment of the build and offer added confidence that your home is being built to a high standard. During your build, you will also be invited to visit your home at key stages of construction.

LIFETIME STRUCTURAL GUARANTEE

LOVE COMING HOME, FOR A LIFETIME.

Building a home is a complex process, however our extensive experience combined with our commitment to quality gives us the confidence to offer a Lifetime Structural Guarantee for every home we build. Our Lifetime Structural Guarantee protects the key structural elements that are essential to your home’s long-term stability and integrity, including the frame, roof trusses, concrete slab, piers and footings. The Guarantee is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and applicable home building legislation, including the statutory two-year warranty for all defects and the six-year warranty for major defects.

Once you have selected your preferred home design, you can then choose your favourite facade. When we design our homes, we consider both how they look and how they function. Every home in our Luxe and Aspire Collections includes a range of pre-designed and pre-priced floorplan options, allowing you to personalise your layout without needing a custom design. Most designs offer more than 25 alternative layout options for you to consider. These may include adding a home theatre, incorporating a bath in your ensuite, creating a guest bedroom or enlarging your garage. These floorplan options help you tailor your chosen home design to how you live, and because they are pre-designed and pre-priced, you can easily understand how the adjusted design will flow and what the associated cost will be from the start. We regularly review customer feedback and design requests and use these insights to continually refine our range of floor plan options, ensuring we offer practical layouts that support modern living. That is why Loan Market Elevate (LME), our preferred finance partner since 2015, is here to support you. Based at our Norwest Head Office, they specialise in construction finance and understand our process, requirements and timelines. You will have the opportunity to connect with LME at your Tender and Building Contract presentations to discuss what is required depending on how you are funding your build. Their role is to ensure you know exactly what needs to happen and when, so you are finance ready by the time you sign your Building Contract. RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE WESTMEAD In 2017, we brought together a team of

architects, builders and consultants to design and build the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) at Westmead. RMH provides a home away from home for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at Westmead Children’s Hospital. Since then, we have extended our support to include the sponsorship of a one- bedroom apartment and regular team visits to cook meals for families staying at the House. VINNIES CEO SLEEPOUT We believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home. As a proud supporter of the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, we help raise vital funds to support people experiencing homelessness. Since partnering in 2022, we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars through the generosity of our customers, employees, trades, suppliers and partners. ZAMBI WILDLIFE RETREAT Having a forever home is just as important for animals as it is for people. In 2021, we partnered with Zambi Wildlife Retreat in Western Sydney, which provides homes for animals retired from circuses, the entertainment industry and zoo breeding programs. Together, we built a 357 sqm enclosure for a troop of retired Hamadryas Baboons. Supported by our network of suppliers and subcontractors, the project gave the baboons a new home and our team a moment they will never forget. We are now a major sponsor of the Retreat and continue to provide financial support and maintenance assistance.
