A special partnership to improve home safety
On Monday, Enbridge Gas Distribution, the FireMarshal’s Public Fire Safety Coun- cil and The Nation Fire Department an- nounced they are partnering to improve home safety and bring fire and carbon monoxide-related deaths down to zero. The Nation Fire Department received 144 combination smoke and carbon mon- oxide alarms through Project Zero – a public education campaign that is providing a total of 3,300 alarms to residents in 15 Ontario municipalities.This year, Enbridge invested $100,000 in Project Zero. Since 2009, Project Zero has been de- livered to 85 Ontario communities. “The Nation Municipality is extremely grateful to be part of the Enbridge Gas Project Zero, said François St-Amour, mayor of The Na- tion Municipality. Lors du tournoi de golf au profit du Fonds de la relève agricole franco-ontarienne, qui se déroulait le vendredi 15 septembre dernier, 14 000 $ ont été remis à la prochaine génération d’agriculteurs franco-ontariens de partout en province. Sur la photo, on retrouve le groupe de lauréats, accompagné du comité du Fonds de la relève agricole. Dans la catégorie projet d’entreprise, les récipiendaires Marie-Estella Richard de Hallébourg dans le nord de l’Ontario et MyriamFaubert-Grégoire et Mathieu Grégoire de Cache Bay dans la municipalité de Nipissing-Ouest ont été reconnus. Le Fonds de la relève encourage aussi les étudiants passionnés d’agriculture. Pour la première fois cette année, 2000 $ ont été remis en bourses d’études.
