Several graduates from the hockey aca- demy are starting tomake a name for them- selves in various junior hockey teams in Canada and down in the United States. Gabe Vilardi was invited to Hockey Cana- da’s Under-17 development camp, which ran from July 29 to August 4. He and more than 100 other young hockey players took part in intense practice drills and scrimmages followed by a nine-gamemini-tournament. Out of that large group of potential talent, 66 will be selected to represent Canada on one of three national teams at the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge taking place October 30 to November 7. The location for the international tournament is not yet decided. While waiting to hear if he is one of the chosen, Vilardi has his upcoming season with the Windsor Spitfires to look forward to after graduating from the academy.
