Drawing on the theory of priority setting, the researcher tries to find out the links between the priorities of Arab satellite channels and the priorities of Algerian viewers who follow these channels. The study focuses on the two main news channels, Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya due to their influence on the Arab public and in their contribution to the formation of public opinion. The first chapter deals with theories of media effect and the types of influence the media has on audiences. The second chapter lays out the current situation of the Arab media and explains the transformation that took place in this field the advent of satellite broadcasting. The third chapter provides a detailed account on news making processes, especially in satellite television and discusses the characteristics of the Algerian public and its relation to satellite media. The final chapter presents the research findings of the field and analytical studies, using both qualitative and qualitative analyses.
