The research cases include seven of the main and most influential media organizations in the world namely Al Jazeera English, CNN, BBC, France 24 English channels, as well as Le Monde, the Guardian and the International Herald Tribune newspapers. The content analysis of this selected sample of media outlets covers a number of topics including the news frames, the coverage agendas and the media discourses. To collect the required data for this comparative investigation, the researcher conducted interviews with media professionals who covered the Tunisian revolution for the above mentioned organization. The research revealed the main factors, which influence the editorial policies and processes of news production. The findings of this study showed how Al Jazeera English, France 24 English and Le Monde set the media agenda and the main topics of the coverage during the Tunisian revolution. They also show how such topics, features and sources used by these media in particular conditioned the coverage of other media outlets during these events.
