Y8 Go on maths PGL Once again, Year 8 were invited to take part in the Maths PGL this May. We went to Osmington Bay, on the coast of Dorset, which had amazing facilities and a wonderful seaside view. On Friday morning, the last day before the May half - term, 58 of us piled into a double decker coach and drove 2 and a half hours down to our residential. The ride was smooth and we even had a little sing-along. We hopped off the coach, ate lunch, and went for a tour around the premises, but there was no time to rest, only time for a quick change before we headed to our first activities! Our first activity was laser tag! We were not expecting that. Our group got to play against Group 2, Mrs Bajaj’s. Our activity was hosted on Little Wembley, a very wide sandpit. We didn’t even use the whole thing! After a few action- packed games, we went down to the Giant Swing. This was easily one of my favourite activities for several reasons: The team bonding was excellent, our group made everyone feel comfortable with the heights, while still encouraging each other to go higher. The thrill of the swing was awe-inducing, as well as the gorgeous view from above. After our final evening activity, which was very competitive tag archery, we all headed to bed to rest up ahead of our first full day. Saturday started with the sensory trail, which our group had to complete blindfolded, relying on our other senses. We then moved onto the vertical challenge.
