Living Locally Fair another success
over Eastern Ontario andWest Quebec. The event is an opportunity for local community organizations to promote their clubs, showcase upcoming events and sell tickets. Local producers like it because it comes at a time of year when farmers’ mar- kets are closed so there are few sales venues. Shoppers like it for the same reason. Each year there are several special dem- onstrations. An entertaining addition this year was the Capital City Garrison 501st Legion, which charged for photos with Star Wars characters on behalf of the Children’s Fantasy Reading Garden. The event is a partnership between the horticultural society and the school and is held the third Saturday of January. chairman of the Eastern Ontario Wardens Caucus (EOWC), which co-sponsors the EORN project. The EOWC and its senior government and private sector partners, has been working on the EORN project for several years now. The goal is to provide high-speed Internet service throughout all of Eastern Ontario, including those rural areas located in “in- formation highway cracks” where dial-up service is all that is available because of the expense to provide either satellite or direct- line high-speed connections.
