Mary Rejoiced in His Birth Luke 2:19 For many years each Hebrew wife had hoped that she would become the mother of the promised Messiah. For centuries all of these hopes and desires had been disappointed. Now Mary discovers that she is the chosen vessel through whom this great miracle is to be performed. Her name would be known throughout the world. She would be the envy of all the thousands of Hebrew wives in Israel. Her heart rejoiced because God had chosen her to be His special vessel. She rejoiced because she knew that through her Son salvation would be available to the world. She rejoiced because the great sacrifice for sin could be accomplished. needy men. Through study of the Word, they learn the secrets of handling hu man problems and of performing diffi cult assignments. By study they are able to assist others who may be in difficulty and to solve intricate problems in life. We Are Blessed If We Practice His Word Psa. 119:6 It is not enough to know what God says in the Bible—we must apply the truth to our own hearts , if we would enjoy the blessings of God. Those who do the Word receive the approval of Heaven. Those who do the Word accom plish victories and perform miracles in human lives. The Christian in action practicing what he has learned from the study of the Word is the advertise ment for God and the channel of bless ing to other lives. This brings blessed ness and happiness to the heart. We Are Blessed If We Know His Word Psa. 119:7 We should be familiar with all the Word of God. There aré profitable truths in every book in the Bible. We should know what the Bible says and we should also know where it is said. As the drug gist must know where the medicine is and as the carpenter must know where his tools are and as the surgeon must know where his instruments are so the Christian must know where the truth that he desires to use is expressed. The person who feels at home throughout the Bible will be a happy person, a fruitful servant, and a delightful Chris tian. The most widely advertised event in all the world is the birth of Christ. Everything that is done in all the world is done with some reference to the birth, of Jesus. The date is on the coins that we use and the checks that we write. It is on the morning and evening news papers daily telling us that the Saviour has come. It is on the birth certificate, the diploma, the marriage certificate, the death certificate, and the tombstone. It is on every legal document and bill of sale. It cannot be avoided. All must know that the Lord Jesus came “to seek and to save that which was lost.” Angels Rejoiced in His Birth Luke 2:13 They rejoiced because they knew that now there would be millions of saints who would come to Heaven because the Saviour had come to earth. They re joiced because they knew that now Satan would be defeated because the Lord Jesus would meet his challenge. They rejoiced because they knew that the Son of God would become very precious to millions of human beings as well as to millions of angels. The urgent need at the present time is to engage more full-time missonary- evangelists, to send New Testaments and Gospel literature, to continue helping Suffering Christians with relief in Europe.
