COVID-19 UPDATE The effect of the coronavirus (COVID-19) has been felt in our communities and around the world, and we are surrounding everyone with love and prayers. Please know that we are working very hard to understand and anticipate everyone’s needs during this unsettling time and our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and safety of our patients and employees. We are making every effort to provide ongoing support and ensure an open line of communication as we navigate through this challenging situation. The Affordable Healthcare Act identifies that Outpatient therapy services falls under essential care. At this time, we will continue to provide urgent and essential care to our community. Our mission is to always be accessible and trusted healthcare leaders providing the highest level of care where it is essential. As the news around COVID-19 continues to evolve we are proactively monitoring the situation, following local city and county government orders and guidelines, and adhering to the guidelines of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Nowmore than ever, it is important to regain and maintain one’s underlying physical health and function. We have implemented the following to ensure delivery of successful care now and always: • FYZICAL has always followed recommended processes for cleanliness, sanitation and sterilization in our clinics. We use medical grade sanitizers and disinfectants on our hands and
equipment. We are now placing heightened emphasis on these practices. • FYZICAL strictly screens all patients and clinicians for symptoms before entrance and allowing treatment. If they don’t pass the screen we insist on rescheduling their appointments or not returning to work until it is safe to do so. • We are providing in-home visits for high risk patients •Telehealth isbeingsetuptoensurecontinuation of services Additional measures may be necessary to protect your health in our clinics. If so, we will update our practices and policies immediately. With this shared commitment, we are confident we can continue delivering the same high level of care you’ve come to expect from us. We want to thank you for the encouragement and kindness we’ve seen from our community, patients and families during this extremely challenging time. We are confident that God has His hand on each of us. We will continue to seek His guidance and discernment as we prayerfully continue to serve each of you. Respectfully, Stacey and Bridget Hathcock, DPT Owners FYZICAL Therapy & Balance at Southwest Georgia Rehab

Stress-induced neck pain isn’t rare. It also isn’t psychological. Many experts think stress-induced neck pain is caused by physical factors — low, but constant, trapezius muscle activity. Driving often, too, can make your chances of stress-related neck pain higher. The U.S. National Library of Medicine suggests contacting a professional if you’re experiencing neck pain. Even if it’s caused by stress, untreated neck pain might later reveal muscle spasms, arthritis, bulging discs or even narrowed spinal nerve openings.

Hear from Claire Stevens on her experience in Occupational Therapy after her stroke, and see if we can help you recover today. “On October 18, 2019, I suffered a stroke. My life will never be the same. When I had to use the bathroom, someone had to come change my diaper. When I was hungry, someone had to feed me. When I wanted to roll over in bed. someone had to do it for me and put a pillow on my back so I would not roll back over. I was paralyzed. I didn’t sign up for this. I wantedmy

life back. My family knew the risk, that I might not survive this. And then it happened. A circle of friends and family poured out their love for me like I had never seen before. How could I be so selfish? I was thinking only of myself, and what I had lost. I still had the most important thing left - love. So, I began the fight. To my surprise, I was not alone. Here came the most wonderful people of all, the therapists who taught me how to walk and stand and sit and roll over. The therapists taught me how to pick up a fork, get the food, and get it to my mouth. I wanted to write my name, so she worked with me until I could pick up a pen and hold it and not drop it. She helped me practice my letters over and over. I love these people. Time and time again they encouraged me, fought with me, understood me, and let me be my new self. They love me.” It’s true, we sure do! Strokes impact everyone around them, and we’re here to help you recover and return to your daily activities. If you know anyone who is recovering from a stroke, have them visit us. Their story could be like Claire’s.
