• Clause 7.2.12 “GWO training providers certified to deliver training in fixed and mobile facilities may use digital learning technologies to deliver training elements within the knowledge domain. This does not require an audit or a separate digital training certification • Clause 7.2.13 “An audit and certification for the digital training setting is required where digital learning technologies are used to deliver any training within the skills or abilities domain” • Clause 7.2.14 “Training providers who employ digital learning technologies during the delivery of GWO modules must have specific procedures in place for the use of these technologies and shall include descriptions of how the applied technology changes the affordances for interaction between the participants, the instructor, and the learning materials. The procedures and descriptions must detail how any limitations are mitigated to achieve the instruction and assessment of all learning objectives for which the technology is used” • Clause 7.2.15 “Training providers who use digital learning technologies to deliver training must have systems in place to enable the training provider to assess whether the course participant has achieved the learning objectives in accordance with the requirements described in section 9” • Clause 7.2.16 “Any digital solution employed for the delivery of GWO training must incorporate a high level of realism and fidelity with the work environment, to enable the course participant to use the knowledge, skills and ability in real-world work situations in accordance with the GWO training module being delivered” • Clause 7.2.17 “Where course participants attend digital learning at a location other than the training centre, the Training Provider must make reasonable efforts to ensure the safety of the course participants while participating in the training”
• Sub-sections 8.1.1 (initial certification) and 8.1.2 (POCD process) removed
• 8.1.3 “Instructor Qualification Process” changed to sub-section 8.1 “Initial Instructor Qualification Process”. New content included for 8.1.1 “Instructional Background”, 8.1.2 “Module Specific Qualification” and 8.1.3 “Assessment” Sub-section 8.2 “Maintaining Instructor Qualifications”: • Sub-clause 8.1.5bi. changed from “visits to onshore and/or offshore WTGs (tower, nacelle, hub) prior to instructing GWO standards and modules training, to enable them to maintain and update skills related to the GWO standards and modules they instruct” to “visits to work environment relevant to target module(s) prior to instructing GWO modules training, to enable them to maintain and update skills related to the GWO modules they instruct • Clause 8.1.6 changed from “To maintain qualification in a specific standard or module, the instructor must deliver the full module or participate in the qualification of other instructors in the module within a period of 12 months. If more than 12 months, the instructor must re-qualify based on an assessment by the training provider “ to “To maintain a WINDA Training Record in a specific module, the instructor must deliver the full module or participate in the qualification of other instructors in the module within a period of 12 months. If more than 12 months, the instructor must retake the GWO training within that module, either as refresher where applicable or as the full training” • New clause 8.2.5: If an instructor fails their competency assessment, the instructor must requalify for the module in accordance with 8.3.
