and aren’t interested in proving they are real. “It needs to be said that although actual, true hauntings are rare, they do happen,” highlights the duo’s website. “True hauntings are usually tied to a specific location or an issue that the spirit was unable to resolve during their lifetime.” Although everything seems to never go without problems, some properties can be challenging, as the duo learned, during one of their cleansings. “We have had a few very interesting occurrences happen during a couple of our cleansing ceremonies, but I believe the most interesting one took place not in a client’s house but out in their garage,” described Hudson. “When we stepped in- side, we could immediately feel the presence of something of a very low vibration that

was watching us and clearly didn’t want us invading its space. Now, you must unders- tand that this took place on a calm, sunny day but themoment we stepped inside, the door slammed shut on Amanda’s leg and the owner was left standing outside.” The two women then advised the homeowner to stay outside and soon after, “the entire building began to shake, as if the entity within was trying to scare and intimidate us.” When asked what homeowners should be looking for when considering a house cleansing, the Reverend explains that “if anyone feels the need for us to come and assess their environment, we’ll do so and make our recommendations at that point.”

But just how exactly does a house clean- sing work? According to Hudson, the duo will first inquire about what exactly the homeowner has been experiencing. “Then, we email thema questionnaire, which goes into more detailed questioning about their experiences,” said the Reverend. An in-person visit by the team then takes place so they can assess the home, get past history and speak with all members

a team established last year and made up of colleagues Reverend Wendy Hudson and Aman- da Van Overbeek, has made it its duty to cleanse houses from what they call negative energies that can harm within this world.

a combination of a lot of different steps,” Hudson expressed. “Such as establishing a protection circle, the lighting of candles, different incenses and smudgingmaterials, along with the use of blessed water and salt to cleanse any negative energy from the house.” But Hudson is quick to point out that Van Overbeek and herself aren’t ghost hunters

“We have been cleansing negative ener- gies frompeople for the past 15 years during our many healing workshops, one-on-one client sessions and in our healing school,” explained Hudson. “We’ve done literally hundreds of cleansings so it was a natural step to then extend it out into property clean- sings since there’s no difference.”
