Staff Training BASICS
STAFF TRAINING BASICS Effective training provides staff with a solid foundation for delivering safe, appropriate, and high-quality care to people receiving services. For agencies that already have established robust training programs, this guidance is not intended to replace these systems and instead, can be used as a tool to identify opportunities to enhance training efforts. Training is one of the most frequent corrective actions taken in response to incidents and as such, the Justice Center is uniquely positioned as an oversight entity to review agency training programs and ensure they adequately address contributing factors leading to incidents. Two frequently cited areas for improvement are the timely completion of training and ensuring that all relevant staff are included. DEVELOP AGENCY POLICY ON STAFF TRAINING Agency policies and procedures outline expectations related to how staff should perform their essential duties.
