Air Quality & Emissions As shown in Figure 4.9 , air quality remains a persistent challenge throughout the region. Fort Worth is part of a non-attainment zone for ozone under Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards. Vehicle emissions and industrial activity contribute to elevated levels of ozone and PM2.5, particularly in densely populated areas. These pollutants pose health risks and complicate efforts to maintain clean air. As the City grows, pressures on air quality will increase, necessitating expanded transit options, cleaner transportation technologies, and strategic land use planning.

Fort Worth is a non-attainment area for ozone. Vehicle emissions and industrial activity contribute to poor air quality, especially in densely populated areas.
