6.6.2. Roadway Fort Worth’s roadway network faces mounting congestion and connectivity challenges as population and employment growth outpaces infrastructure capacity. The gap analysis identified corridors with projected V/C ratios exceeding 1.0 by 2050, signaling severe LOS degradation. Many of these corridors serve as critical links to employment hubs and freight clusters, making their improvement essential for economic vitality. Figure 6.13 maps the roadway priority projects, which include arterial and collector links such as Golden Triangle Blvd–Riverside Dr, Blue Mound Rd–Old Denton Rd, and Trinity Blvd– Great Southwest Pkwy. Capacity projects target corridors like Avondale Haslet Rd, Blue Mound Rd, and Camp Bowie Blvd for lane additions (up to six lanes). Intersection upgrades focus on the top thirty intersections ranked by delay (TTI) for signal optimization and geometric improvements.
