Recommendations Recommendation #1: More Direct & Safer Truck Routes Local and regional priority freight gap routes will improve connections to major employers and help reduce injuries along key freight corridors. Improvements target the following: ■ 7 local freight corridors, including 20 miles of new truck routes and 5 miles existing roadways to be upgraded to truck route classification. ■ 5 regional truck routes will add 70 miles to the regional truck network.

Recommendation #2: First & Last Mile Freight Route Improvements Investments in lane reconfiguration and medians on local roads (arterials and collectors), identified as first/last mile freight routes, aim to improve traffic safety particularly in residential to industrial areas.

Recommendation #3: Railroad Grade Separation Projects Grade separation at 10 at-grade railroad crossings with highest traffic volumes could improve traffic delays due to railroad freight operation.
