A TIMELY DELIVERY ON THE NEW KENWORTH FACILITY
PERFORMING MULTIPLE SCOPES TO EVERYONE’S ADVANTAGE
e are proud to have played a part in the construction of the new Kenworth facility in North Las Vegas for one of our premier contractors,
Boyd Martin Construction. We’re calling it one of our signature projects because it’s such an exciting demonstration of what Dri Tech Corp is all about and what we’re capable of doing for our clients. When specialty projects (outside the typical distribution centers) are built, we’re able to partner with the builder in a way that allows us to provide multiple scopes on a single job site, including: • Insulated Metal Wall Panel Systems • Standing Seam Metal Roof Systems • Single Ply Roof Systems • ACM Wall Panels • Associated Sheet Metal We strive to perform these multiple scopes for our clients for a variety of reasons: 1. To Save Time Just a few days of delay on a project can have a huge ripple effect on the original agreed-upon timetable because it prevents other trades from being able to start or finish their work. By not having to delay while we wait for other scopes to be performed by other companies, we keep everything on a schedule that we manage ourselves.
2. To Communicate Better Even though the team that works on each project is large, we always create a single point of contact as the go-to resource to the very end. This way there are no middlemen muddying up processes, and no questions about who is expected to do what at any time. 3. To Save Money Performing more types of work on a single project allows Dri Tech to reduce their margins, as they have fewer administrative and managerial costs. We recognize the multiple places money can be saved, and do everything we can to utilize them. 4. To Control Quality A single subcontractor can have multiple crews all working together to produce a better finished product when each of those
crews are working on a separate scope as part of a larger, overall project. 5. To Improve Safety Being able to manage and enforce a single jobsite safety plan without the obstruction of other trades who adhere to different guidelines allows us to maintain the highest safety standards for both our own team and those we’re building for. The new Kenworth building is just one of many exciting examples of how our offered scopes benefit not just Dri Tech Corp but the clients we serve. Time and time again, our pride comes from building a structure that you can be proud of.

(176,000 population compared to Boise’s 228,000). With a revitalized downtown, low cost of living, and a deep historical setting, it ranks No. 4 on the Realtor.com list. The city boasts an average of 51 inches of rain a year, so the springs and summers are hot and humid, but the winters are mild. Outdoor activities and visiting the city zoo or museums are popular attractions for residents. Winston-Salem, North Carolina Dubbed as The City of Arts and Innovation and placed at No. 8 on the Realtor.com list, this city has become particularly attractive for its growing tech and banking businesses. It’s also a center for the tobacco industry as well as the original home to Krispy Kreme doughnuts! The climate is also pleasant, with summer highs around 88 degrees F and winter lows around 28 degrees F. With a low cost of living and rich arts and culture, Winston-Salem has drawn a lot of attention from Americans nationwide. You aren’t alone if you’re thinking about moving to one of these beautiful, mid-sized cities. Best of luck looking for your future dream home! TOP TRENDING U.S. CITIES FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Americans have been moving out of densely populated cities for a few years now as they face skyrocketing housing and cost of living expenses — especially recently in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. But many people assume that homes in U.S. cities with perfect views and diverse cultures are way out of their price range. The truth is that many homes in cities with those attractive qualities are affordable, even if they aren’t along the coast. Boise, Idaho Compared to its No. 8 spot in 2019, Boise is ranked No. 1 by Realtor.com as one of the nation’s top housing markets in 2020. In recent years, Boise has become a particularly hot spot for fleeing Californians. As a city with all four seasons, its beautiful, mild climate is comparable to California’s warm springs and summers, though the falls and winters tend to be quite a bit snowier. The culture features an outdoor lifestyle and a strong education system, and the job market has grown since HP Inc. and Micron Technologies moved there. Chattanooga, Tennessee Along the Tennessee River bordering Georgia, Chattanooga is beautiful, fantastic for families, and a smaller city than Boise It can be easy to feel a sense of helplessness right now. The world is experiencing a big problem, and many people don’t know how to help ease some of these hardships. Fortunately, the past few months have shown that creativity and compassion can go a long way. Just take a look at these companies that have thought outside of the box so they could give back. Airbnb is helping first responders (who are spending extremely long days and nights on the job) get the restful accommodations they need. Many medical professionals are working a grueling amount of hours then commuting long distances to get some rest. In many cases, they also have family members at home who they don’t want to put at risk. Seeing this need, Airbnb has aided in removing that burden by encouraging hosts to offer accommodations for free or at greatly reduced prices. They’ve also removed their own processing fees. BrewDog is a beer brewery in the U.K. that was one of the first breweries to retool their business to temporarily provide hand sanitizer during its most grave shortages. They’ve packed and donated over 50,000 units of hand sanitizer to local charities and have even created job opportunities by enlisting extra team members to help them with the process. 4 Businesses Being Innovative With Giving Back LET’S TAKE A PAGE OUT OF THEIR BOOK
Logitech specializes in everything from keyboards to mouses, but when schools first switched to remote classroom settings, they expanded their production of headsets. Many households are equipped with a computer and its basic accessories, but few have headsets that are compatible with children. So Logitech offered free headsets to U.S. schools to distribute to their students at home. LEGO retooled their factory in Denmark, pausing production on the little toy bricks kids love to instead produce over 13,000 safety visors a day for front-line health care workers. They’ve also begun working on their goal to give away 500,000 LEGO kits to children in need during these hard times. Your business may not be able to produce hand sanitizer or build protective equipment, but there are always innovative ways to help in times of need. So let’s dig deep and contribute when people need help the most.

6 REASONS FOR HOPE
There’s Good News Out There Too
4. Science has also emerged to start officially backing the consensus that airborne spread of the virus is happening. Being armed with this important information is what allows new plans (and controls for regulation) to form; for example, this encourages innovative ways to make enclosed spaces safer for larger amounts of people. 5. Several recent studies are now showing that anywhere from 20%– 50% of people who have never been exposed to the coronavirus may have immune cells. Although much more research is needed to fully understand these hypotheses, this is a step in a hopeful direction as people look for new sources and ways to combat the virus. 6. The first of the vaccine trials seem to be working. At the beginning of the pandemic, these early trials were cause for concern because the virus was so new. Now, experts around the globe have a much more optimistic outlook for the future of a coronavirus vaccine, and they are breaking timeline records to get it.
Increasing numbers and dwindling outlooks don’t tell the whole story. There’s a lot going on that’s actually helping professionals figure out how to make things better during the pandemic, and that’s something to be hopeful about. Here are recent stories that provide the optimism we all need right now. 1. Even though there’s been significant headway with a vaccine (according to Dr. Fauci who said, “We’re in a pretty good place when it comes to vaccines”), therapeutic treatments will arrive before vaccines. These treatments will allow us to stop the virus from replicating inside of the body. 2. Saliva tests will be available soon. Think of them as personalized tests for the coronavirus. If people can run simple saliva tests at home, there’s a great chance that our lives can return to semi-normal, because everyone will be able to self-test before going out in public. 3. The science behind wearing a mask is no longer theoretical: Universal mask-wearing really does work to stop the spread of the virus. On top of that good news, trends show that universal mask wearing is catching on instead of moving the other way, which means it’s actively helping to stop the spread of the virus.

At the Round Table DID YOU KNOW?
Marc-Andre Fleury currently holds the longest active playoff streak of any individual player across the four major sports leagues in North America. This postseason
• 14 straight postseason appearances • 142 games played • 78-62 postseason record • 4176 saves • 3 assists • 5 Stanley Cup appearances • 3 Stanley Cup rings
will mark Fleury’s 14th consecutive trip to the playoffs, a feat unmatched by even Tom Brady and LeBron James. At 35 years old, the Golden Knights’ goalie may not try to chase down the longest ever NHL playoff streak set by Larry Robinson and Nicklas Lidstrom with 20 straight trips to the postseason, but his fans would certainly love for him to try!

The Best Educational Tools to Help Students Succeed
STUDENT TECH SUCCESS EDUCATIONAL TOOLS TO IMPROVE DIGITAL LEARNING
Kids these days face so many more distractions from academics than their parents did. It’s not as easy to focus on homework when TikTok, YouTube, and all sorts of video games beckon. Instead of trying to prevent screen time, why not allow students to engage with technology that will help promote their learning rather than distract from it? Here are three tools to help students at different age levels get the most from online learning. Beanstalk While Beanstalk is an online learning tool, the beauty of it is that the classes and videos aim to pull kids “out of the screen to do real-world physical activities.” These include science experiments, building projects, and more. Experienced teachers provide engaging lessons and learning tools, and many of them are free. EduHam What better way to learn about the history of our nation than through one of the nation’s most popular musicals? “Hamilton” creator Lin- Manuel Miranda launched this learning platform in 2016 along with the show’s director and in partnership with The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. EduHam is a free digital program for students
and their families that provides history lessons on the Founding Era of the United States. It also brings art into the mix — Miranda shows students how to create their own performance pieces based on primary source documents, which they can then share in the app. The program is geared toward students in sixth through 12th grade, though everyone is welcome to participate. Fiveable For high school students, the most looming challenges include the SAT and Advanced Placement (AP) exams that are so important for college. Enter Fiveable, the amazing free resource that houses thousands of livestreams, study guides, trivia games, and other resources for 15 AP subjects. Started by a former teacher, Fiveable is passionate about giving students the resources they’ll need to be successful now and into the future.
With so many resources out there, students can use technology in plenty of ways to help them be successful. Here’s to a fall season full of learning!
