B rother Mitchell is a recent lifetime Virginia State University Chapter, the Alpha Phi of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he served as the Polemarch and Vice Polemarch. He also served as the Eastern Province Region III Undergradu- ate Board Member and Achievement and Awards Committee Member. He was a recipient of the 2018 Donald G. Murphy Memorial Undergraduate Achievement Award, James Overton Academic Award, and an Individual Achieve- ment Award for Frater- nity Service. He is a 2018 Kappa Fellow of the Theta Class of Kappa Alpha Psi’s Undergraduate Leadership Institute. He graduated summa cum laude (3.94 GPA) in 2018 from Virginia State University (VSU) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology, Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, and a minor in Cyber Security. During his senior year, he served as the Student Government Association President and the Student Representa- tive on the VSU Board of

Visitors. He also completed over 400 hours of commu- nity service at VSU. He is a Commissioned Officer in the United States Coast Guard and is cur- rently stationed on USCGC KIMBALL, a 418ft National Security Cutter, home- ported in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is a Deck Watch Officer and Law Enforcement Divi- sion Officer. It is evident that Cody’s young life epitomizes Achievement and that he sees obstacles as oppor- tunities to achieve in spite of; not because of. We are thankful to Stefani and Bri- an Mitchell, Cody’s parents – for God’s most precious gift to You has been a blessing to the Noble Clan

of Kappa Alpha Psi. Therefore, let it be known that our Brother exhibits the five objectives of Kappa Al- pha Psi and that his diamond embodies the characteristics of Founder Grant. He is a student of achievement, a leader among men, and a vanguard of excellence. Here's to Byron K. Arm- strong Awardee and Guy L. Grant Awardee Cody E. Mitchell! “To all those who pushed me, my family, my friends, my fraternity, my professors and administrators, I say thank you. You've allowed me to take it to the next level, to keep on pursuing and to keep on expanding my knowledge. Without you all I would not be the man that I am today.”
