The Hawkesbury and District General Hospital Inc. is looking for a bilingual candidate to fill the following position: Registered Nurse in the Mental Health and Addiction Program

PART-TIME PERMANENT POSITION (22.5 HOURS / WEEK) SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Director, Mental Health & Addiction, Senior’s Health, the nurse will work within the program set up for clients suffering from a mental illness and/or addiction problem. She (he) will participate in the clients’ multidisciplinary assessment, treatment and implement planning with all the professionals and agencies involved in the program. Monitor the clients’ mental health/addictions status (symptoms, medication, etc.) and complete nursing follow-ups. The roles and responsibilities of this position also includes to a ct as the liaison officer between different professionals and agencies (ex: family doctors) and to give intramuscular injections. REQUIREMENTS Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (or eligible). Bachelor degree in nursing. Specialised certification in psychiatry / mental health from the Canadian Nurses Association (or willingness to achieve this designation within two years of employment). Must hold a valid driver’s license, use of vehicle and insurance. A minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in general psychiatry. Possess a good knowledge of mental health and addiction diagnosis and issues and of the pharmacological et psychoeducational treatment approaches to use. Able to work in a changing environment, capable of intervening in crisis situations, and capable of working in a team setting. Ability to work effectively as an active member of the health care team. Possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Must have a good attendance record.
