12.5 Addressing Standards

Issue

Resultant and corrective actions where applicable

• If a Relevant Segment of the mailing or mailing fails to meet the Addressing Standards that Relevant Segment of the mailing will not be processed. The Customer has the option to either have the Relevant Segment of the mailing returned or agree the remedial action. • If a posting(s) or relevant segment of the posting(s) fails to meet the OCR or CBC specification that posting(s) or relevant segment of the posting(s) will not be processed. The customer has the option, if Royal Mail agrees it is operationally feasible to process, the customer will be charged the prevailing Access Charge for the most applicable service for the posting(s) or relevant segment of the posting(s) • The exception to the above will apply from 31/10/11 until further notice, where the failure of a CBC posting(s) or relevant segment of a CBC posting(s) is related uniquely to the posting not meeting the requirements for PAF accurate DPS, and that posting does not meet the OCR requirements. In such circumstances, Whistl shall charge the customer 0.5p per item surcharge on a all items for that posting. Please note that since application of accurate DPS is integrated at data level, Royal Mail will seek separate presentation of failed ‘CBC-DPS’ postings from the customer each time that the entity or originating posting is made, until such time as the customer has confirmed that the entity or originating posting has been adjusted with accurate DPS. • Where Royal Mail has statistically significant evidence, Royal Mail then reserves the right to levy a charge to cover the reasonable costs of handling.

Mailing items that fail to meet the

addressing standards as specified in Section 2.2 of the Customer Guide Mailing items declared as OCR or CBC fail to meet the relevant specification.
