While the first preparatory meeting on
the 2011 budget will take place February 1,
the mayor of The Nation, François St-

“The tax increase will be limited to the
rate of inflation, which is about two per
cent,” he pledges.
At least that is the directive council
has given to the municipal administration
as it starts working on the 2011 budget
estimates.
For the new year, the mayor has some
priorities, but he is also realistic. “Over
the two next years, it is useless to dream:
there will be no new provincial and
federal subsidies. The two levels of
government are in debt and we to account
for that.”
One project already undertaken is an
analysis of water and sewage needs in
Limoges. A contract has been awarded to
determine service requirements in the
village which has been growing rapidly.
“At that rate, there could be difficulty
in meeting the demand in 2012,” allows
St-Amour. “We do not want to get in that
position. That is why have retained a
company to produce an action plan.”
