Trois jours après son entrée à l’hôpital, il se réveille. Les médecins l’informent qu’il a été victime d’unmalaise cardiaque. On lui apprend également que son cœur a été endommagé et a perdu près de 80 % de son efficacité. Le 16 juillet, Elias Boustani obtient son congé de l’hôpital, juste à temps pour fêter son 63 e anniversaire de naissance le 17 juillet. À ce moment, il décide de s’offrir son propre cadeau : la santé. « Il y a quelques années, je m’entraînais régulièrement. J’ai cependant cessé en 2001. Manifestement, ça n’a pas été un bon choix », confie-t-il, ajoutant que le stress a aussi été un facteur dans la dégradation de son état de santé. Dès lors, du mois de juillet au mois de septembre, il suit un programme de réhabi-

Boustani est transporté d’urgence à l’Hopital Général de Hawkesbury souf- frant de difficultés respiratoires. Sa condition se dégrade rapidement, et il est alors transféré à l’Hôpital civique d’Ot- tawa. « Je ne me rappelle rien, indique M. Boustani. Les médecins ont dit à ma conjointe que mes chances de survie

effectuer un tel retour vers la santé. » Elias Boustani surprend à nouveau lors- que, le 9 janvier dernier, il participe à un combat de kickboxing amateur. Il a réussi à envoyer un homme plus jeune, âgé de 41 ans, au tapis en deux rounds. Aujourd’hui, sept mois après l’incident, le cœur d’Elias Boustani est rétabli à plus de 75 %. Il s’entraîne quatre jours par se- maine à raison de deux heures par jour. « Je raconte mon histoire dans l’espoir de re- joindre les gens qui ont vécu le même problème. Il est possible de renverser la vapeur. Vous ne me croyez pas? Venez voir par vous-même », affirme M. Boustani. Les gens peuvent d’ailleurs rencontrer M. Boustani pendant son en- traînement, de 19 h à 21 h. « J’ai de bons conseils à offrir. »

En peu de temps, cet homme qui se retrouvait tout récemment cloué à un lit d’hôpital se dres- sait maintenant sur ses pieds. « Au début, je m’épuisais à soulever 20 livres seule- ment. Maintenant, je peux m’entraîner avec des poids de 85 livres », affirme le miraculé. En huit semaines, celui-ci a perdu 18 livres. En raison de son rétablissement rapide, Elias Boustanie s’attire même les éloges de son médecin et de l’Institut de cardiologie. « Ils n’en revenaient tout simplement pas qu’une personne qui a risqué la mort puisse

Ian Hepburn et Christos Bereris au Centre culturel le Chenail diplômé du Royal Conservatory of Music en piano ainsi qu’en enseignement du piano. Pendant plusieurs années, il ensei- gne le piano jusqu’à ce qu’il découvre les vertus thérapeutiques de la harpe. Il décide donc d’offrir sa musique aux patients de l’Hôpital Général de Hawkesbury (HGH). Certains ont peut-être aperçu M. Hepburn jouant de la harpe dans un couloir pour les patients souffrants et les nouveau-nés. « La harpeatoujourseuuneconnotationdivine.On associesouventcetinstrumentauxangesetaux cieux.Lesonprocureunsentimentdebien-être et de sécurité », confie-t-il. cette thérapie. Au départ, on utilise une table de massage rigide. En 2010 cepen- dant, celle-ci devient désuète avec l’arrivée d’un lit d’eau comme table vibrotactile. Il s’agit d’une création d’un inventeur de Stittsville. « C’est vraiment une révolution dans cette thérapie. De fait, le corps humain est composé environ à 75 % d’eau; alors les vibrations sont mieux transmises et cap- tées par le corps ». Le village de Vankleek Hill est ainsi le premier et seul endroit où la nouvelle technologie est utilisée.
De son côté, Christos Bereris a également débuté en piano. Après l’école secondaire, il économise pour financer des leçons de piano. Son cheminement le mènera à ren- contrer Ian Hepburn qui accepte de lui enseigner la théorie et la composition au piano de même qu’à la harpe. Ensuite, Christos Bereris est invité à se joindre à Ian Hepburn pour jouer de la harpe bénévole- ment à l’HGH. Christos Bereris étudiera à son tour la Thérapie vibroacoustique par la harpe. Il est praticien certifié depuis 2009 et partenaire fondateur de l’Équipe Santé. Il

Les gens auront également l’occasion d’entendre la jeune chanteuse Brianna Campbell qui fera la première partie du spectacle. Spécialistes des bonnes vibrations Le duo de harpistes s’est d’abord formé à la suite de la création d’Équipe Santé (Vitality Team) qui, depuis un peu plus de deux ans, offre la thérapie vibroacoustique par la harpe. La thérapie est offerte au centre médical de Vankleek Hill. Ian Hepburn s’est d’abord initié à la musique au piano dès son jeune âge. La pétillante et énergique Marie-Mai s’amène à Hawkesbury le 23 avril prochain. Turpin Autos est fier de présenter cette artiste de renom dans le cadre de ses activités au profit du Relais pour la vie. Depuis quatre ans déjà, la grande fa- mille d’employés de Turpin Autos et leurs proches se mobilisent afin d’amasser des fonds pour venir en aide à la lutte contre le cancer. Cette année, avec la production de ce mégaspectacle, Turpin a décidé de frap- per fort et compte livrer une belle somme lors de la marche annuelle qui se tiendra à Maxville le 3 juin prochain. Pour ce faire, le grand public est invité dès aujourd’hui à se procurer un billet pour assister au specta- cle qui aura lieu au complexe sportif Robert Hartley. Mille cinq cents billets sont en circulation, dont 700 pour les estrades et 800 pour le parterre. Le concessionnaire a confié les arrangements à l’agente de pro- duction Mariette LaFrance. Celle-ci raconte sa joie d’avoir pu mettre la main sur cette chanteuse très en demande et de renouer avec Les productions J. « On est bien choyés de l’avoir. Le président de l’Assemblée législative de l’Ontario est l’hôte de la cérémonie d’illumination, mettant en scène un spectacle du Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus et des chanteurs de chants de Noël en costume d’époque. Pendant le spectacle, on sert du lait de poule et des biscuits. Des représentants de tous les partis sont invités à présenter leurs vœux à l’occasion des Fêtes au nom de leur parti.
