TITAN does it better: Restricts the sash. Not the possibilities.

The new TITAN 90° opening restrictor: complies with the DOEB guideline and impresses at every stage, from production to operation.

However you look at it, TITAN is one of the most successful hardware systems because every last detail is constantly being refined and improved. The fact that TITAN is now also the first system to provide an opening restrictor certified to the DOEB guideline – with a special focus on functional reliability and durability – underlines its technical edge. Easy to install, the TITAN 90° opening restrictor is the only product of its kind to provide lasting protection not only for the sash and reveal, but also for the hinge side. It does this by damping the sash, gently stopping it in the end position and safely preventing it from closing unintentionally when there is a draught. MECHANICAL INNOVATION MEETS FIRE SAFETY IN THE NEW GU SECURY LOGIQ AUTOMATIC MULTIPOINT LOCK

Gretsch-Unitas Limited, a leading supplier of window and door technology, has announced the launch of the GU Secury LogIQ Automatic Multipoint Lock. By rethinking the locking mechanism, Gretsch- Unitas has created a solution that overcomes the installation and compatibility hurdles often found in automatic hardware, allowing for seamless integration into standard door preparations. At the core of the GU Secury LogIQ is an innovative trigger mechanism integrated directly within the top and bottom latch bolts. This design allows the lock to engage automatically as soon as the door is closed, achieving a full 20mm bolt projection without the need for external triggers or magnets.

To ensure smooth operation for the end user, the system features an integral patented hold-back feature that allows for controlled movement during both daily use and the initial installation process. The system is designed to fit standard door preparations, allowing fabricators to add automatic locking to their existing product range without the need for new tooling or bespoke routing. With a 45mm backset and universal handing, the GU Secury LogIQ simplifies the retrofitting process for existing configurations, effectively reducing the requirement for specialised stock. This mechanical reliability is supported by rigorous durability testing, with the mechanism exceeding the requirements of

BS 6375-2 Class 5 by completing over 100,000 cycles. GU Secury LogIQ is also backed by the technical validation required for complex commercial and residential specifications. The system has successfully undergone EN 1634-1 fire testing for both 30 minute and 60 minute timber doorsets. This testing programme was specifically designed to reflect real-world requirements for access controlled fire doors. The fire-tested configurations included the full electronic ecosystem, including the Secury A-Opener motor and connection cables. These were tested alongside both the GU SECUREconnect wireless power transfer system and conventional frame-side cable loops. By testing the lock, motor, and power transfer components as a single configured system in conjunction with bespoke Norseal intumescent kits, GU provides specifiers with the verified evidence needed to maintain doorset integrity in fire-rated applications. The GU Secury LogIQ has been included in successful PAS 24:2022 security door assembly tests and holds Secured by Design accreditation. This combination of mechanical innovation and formal certification meets the growing demand for motorised hardware that does not compromise on safety or security documentation. With UK stock currently available, the system is ready for immediate distribution. The technical team at GU is able to provide guidance on incorporating these verified solutions into upcoming project specifications.

STABLE DOORS THE DETAILS MATTER MORE THAN EVER.

Stable doors continue to hold a distinctive place in the market. Offering something different from a standard entrance or back door: everyday flexibility, ventilation, and a style that works particularly well in kitchens, utility spaces and character-led homes. Today, it is not enough for a stable door simply to offer the expected functional benefits. fabricators, installers and homeowners are looking more closely at the finer details, how intuitively it goes together, and how it performs as part of a finished doorset. That is where the Winkhaus Interlocking Stable Door Solution stands apart. Engineered with four locking points, featuring separate deadbolts and hooks for both the upper and lower sections of the stable door, the system delivers a high level of protection without compromising on appearance. Security is built into the solution in a way that supports both performance and aesthetics, helping create a stable door that feels robust, well-built and fit for modern expectations. A key advantage of the system is its integrated design. The integrated shootbolt links the two door sections internally, removing the need for additional hardware. For fabricators and installers, that means simpler preparation, easier sourcing and faster production, while also creating a cleaner overall look with less visible hardware on the finished door. This is now strengthened further with the introduction of the new double radius lock variant which offers simplification when routing. Our single radius continues to deliver a great solution for timber where a flush square finish is preferred.

refined and cohesive appearance to the stable door, helping deliver a cleaner visual finish that feels more considered and removes additional preparation and finishing work for the installer, delivering all the functional advantages of a stable door, but with better product detailing and a neater end result. Importantly, the benefits are not only visual. One of the standout features of the system is it’s easy to adjust roller ball latch. During installation, this allows for more precise alignment, helping save time on site and making it easier to achieve a clean, accurate fit. Future adjustments are equally straightforward, giving installers added confidence during fitting and providing homeowners with reassurance that long term performance and maintenance can remain simple and hassle free. That ease of adjustment and cleaner integration matter because they support the full supply chain. For fabricators, the solution helps streamline production. For installers, it can reduce complication on site. For the end user, it contributes to a stable door that looks better, works smoothly and remains easier to live with over time. Durability is another important part of the story. All Winkhaus products, including the Interlocking Stable Door Solution, are supplied with standard coating to achieve class 5 protection. Applied using a rigorous electroplating process, to deliver exceptional corrosion resistance and is tested to EN 1670 Class 5, exceeding requirements by 66%. The coating also features self-regenerating properties, with silicon dioxide particles helping to seal minor scratches caused by everyday use. The result is

The addition of the double radius brings a more

hardware that continues to look and perform at a high level for longer, supporting both appearance and longevity. Taken together, this creates a stable door solution that answers the changing expectations of the market. It delivers the practical benefits people already value from stable doors, such as flexible ventilation, security and everyday usability, while also addressing the needs of those making, fitting and specifying the product. With its combination of robust security, installer- friendly features, long-lasting performance and now a cleaner-looking double radius option, the Winkhaus Interlocking Stable Door Solution is designed to make the job easier while delivering a stable door customers can trust. Andy Meakin, Sales Director at Winkhaus UK, said: “Manufactured and designed in our

state-of-the-art facility in Meiningen Germany, the Interlocking Stable Door solution has all the qualities customers expect from a Winkhaus locking solution. “The integrated interlocking mechanism reduces the amount of visual hardware, simplifying sourcing, preparation, and fabrication for our customers. This product is a testament to the innovation, functionality, and design excellence that Winkhaus represents, and is transforming the way stable doors are fabricated and experienced.” “Now available in a new double radius version, the solution offers an even cleaner visual finish and a simpler installation process, helping fabricators and installers achieve a more refined result with less complication.”

SHINING A LIGHT ON SUSTAINABILITY: SOLAR PV PROJECT AT RENOLIT IN CRAMLINGTON

At RENOLIT, we’re committed to shaping a more sustainable future. Our latest milestone? A fully funded solar PV project at our Cramlington site in the UK that’s setting new standards for energy efficiency and carbon reduction. A Powerful Partnership for a Greener Tomorrow When RENOLIT UK wanted to significantly cut carbon emissions, reduce energy costs, and boost on-site generation, without the requirement to use any of their capital, they knew that collaboration was key. Together with Zestec Renewable Energy, Seed Renewables Limited, and Octopus Energy Generation, they’ve implemented a 1.76 MWp solar solution producing 1.47 GWh of electricity annually that combines rooftop and carport solar arrays, along with an integrated EV charging infrastructure. The results speak for themselves: • 331 tonnes of CO₂ reduction forecast in the first year • 97% of generated solar power used directly on site

could still use the car park throughout the project.

“The project is a combination of engineering passion, excellent teamwork and a can-do attitude to solve some of the technical challenges a complex, busy manufacturing site presents,” says Russ Kelsall, Project Manager at Zestec Renewable Energy. The finished project includes a rooftop solar array with a capacity of 900 kWp and a carport array in the staff car park that adds another 866 kWp. We also installed EV charging stations to help us use even more of our own renewable energy for our growing fleet of electric vehicles. A Model for Sustainable Operations By adopting a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model, RENOLIT benefits from clean, on- site electricity generation – without upfront investment. With a PPA, a third-party provider finances, installs, and maintains the solar PV system, while RENOLIT purchases the generated electricity at a predetermined rate, typically lower than standard grid prices. This approach not only strengthens our operational resilience and reduces our carbon footprint but also supports our long- term sustainability goals by allowing us to access renewable energy in a cost-effective and risk-free way. “This solar PV project marks a significant milestone for our site and RENOLIT’s sustainability journey. It has been inspiring to see so many teams and partners come together, overcome challenges, and deliver a solution that benefits both our business and the environment. We’re proud to lead by example, demonstrating what can be achieved when innovation and teamwork go hand in hand,” says Simon Wilson Managing Director at RENOLIT UK For further information please contact RENOLIT UK Ltd (renolit.uk@renolit.com) or call 01670 718222.

• Cost savings already being realised

• Improved long term energy resilience

• Reduced reliance on the national grid

• Engineering Excellence Meets Smart Planning

This project came with a few challenges. For example, we needed to keep the car park accessible while work was underway, and we had to strengthen the warehouse roof before installing the solar panels. Our teams managed these tasks by planning carefully and working closely together. We scheduled the roof and construction work during regular maintenance shutdowns, so there was as little disruption as possible. At the same time, we organized the work in phases to make sure staff
