Skills & Abilities • Highly effective Planning, organising and prioritising skills and the preparation of high quality reports. • Strong ability to communicate complex/technical concepts and opportunities to a business and academic audience. • Possess highly developed communication skills and strong influencing and negotiating skills with a proven ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders. • Ability to lead and manage staff effectively, creating an environment where staff are motivated and supported to achieve service/organisational goals. • Managing in a way that is efficient and cost-effective manner to achieve key service objectives. • Maintenance systems and scheduling and thei management e.g. CAFM Planon. • Diverse knowledge of engineering infrastructure and maintenance profiles e.g. SFG20. • Application of relevant Health & Safety and environmental legislation and their limbs into other • legislation and the service. • Knowledge and experience of Estates management strategies and integrating maintenance strategy within capital development proposals. • A degree or higher degree in Engineering (or an equivalent professional qualification) • Senior Membership of recognised Professional Membership engineering bodies. Minimum level of professional memberships of recognized engineering bodies - Institute Mechanical • Engineers/Institute of Electrical Engineers/Member of Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineer (CIBSE to fellowship level (e.g. FCIBSE, FIET, ASHRAE Fellow),) • NEBOSH • IOSH • CDM 2015 • Asbestos awareness P405 • General & Specialist Knowledge • Education & Training

• Relevant Experience

• Experience in Higher Education or similar complex organisations. • Knowledge and experience of research/specialist activities and related maintenance and inspection schedules. • Proven experience of senior leadership management of engineering/maintenance teams. • Undertaking strategic reviews of large and complex engineering installations and making • recommendations. • Experience of developing and delivering low energy strategies. • Experience of building management systems and their optimisation. • Significant experience of engineering design and design related activities related to large projects or portfolios. • Management of measured Term Services Contracts their effective performance and financial. • Experience of working with combined heat and power generation plant and heat networks.

• Special Requirements

• The post holder need to be an expert Chartered Engineer with significant and successful track record with relevant experience and qualifications in the management of Engineering assets, legal compliance, keeping the University compliant within an optimised environment.
