usage and how different our lives would be without its discovery. Finally, I will be conveying my personal reasons for choosing this element and how I may or may not have a personal connection with aluminum and the compounds surrounding it. Carla Prieto-Dominguez - “HIV/AIDS” (poster session) HIV disease is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system and comes from a type of chimpanzee from Central Africa, estimated in 1800 HIV may have been transmitted to humans when they hunted chimpanzees for their flesh and came into contact with infected blood. HIV is transmitted through vaginal, oral, or anal relationships. Incubation is divided into 3 phases. The acute phase, the second phase called a chronic infection, and the last phase better known as AIDS. The latest reports show that in 2021 650,000 people died of AIDS-related diseases, much lower than in other years since 1.4 million died in 2010 and 2 million in 2004. The gender most likely to be affected by HIV is men. There is still no treatment to cure HIV. However, the most effective treatment is taking medicines that allow you to keep this infection healthy. Nominerdene Purevdorj - “Silicone and Plastic Surgery” (session 18) The most popular substance for implants is silicone, which has been utilized in cosmetic surgery for many years. The materials that makeup silicones are wholly synthetic and are not found in nature. Despite being polymers, their chemical composition considerably differs from that of plastics. The silicone rubber shell of a silicone gel-filled breast implant is constructed of one or more polysiloxane(s), such as polydimethylsiloxane and poly-diphenyl siloxane, and is filled with a predetermined amount of silicone gel. In our world, everyone is unique and incomparable. However, 13% of adults aged 18 and older reported having suicidal thoughts or feelings as a result of body image issues every year. Patients who undergo plastic surgery report feeling happier and less apprehensive around others. Additionally, it improves their quality of life. Being more confident and feeling better about oneself might result from improving one's appearance. MaKayla Ratliff - “Is the Incorporation of Video Games in a Classroom Beneficial to Students Education” (poster session) This paper examines how video games can be used in an educational setting to help kids learn a subject better. It used to be that video games were only for entertainment purposes but nowadays playing video games is making it possible for kids to go to college on scholarships and have the ability to win large cash prizes. Interviews were conducted of one hundred anonymous students at Missouri Valley college. This analysis has seen that there can be a large correlation between students playing video games in an educational environment to the students learning about the subject the video game is about to be strong. It takes a look at how some video games can help kids learn things better by playing the games instead of being taught by a teacher and it's most of the time more fun for them anyways especially if they might be a hand on learner.
