2021 Annual Report (Callanwolde Fine Arts Center)

Winter House 2021

From November 26 through December 11, 2021, Callanwolde was open to the public celebrating a new type of holiday tradition, one filled with art and holiday cheer. Friends sat by the fires in our Wine Bar and Beer Garden, while families gathered by the outdoor fire pits and made s’mores. Jazzy holiday sounds filled the air while folks shopped at our holiday artist market, played board games, and learned how to decorate gingerbread houses. Other mini-workshops featured Callanwolde’s most popular year round classes including Throwing Pottery on the Wheel, Raku Firing, Jewelry Making, Glass Etching, and Blacksmithing. Santa made appearances and took photos with furry friends and families. The event also featured live performances from Joe Gransden, Joe Alterman, and Robin Latimore, and dancers from Kit Modus and Callanwolde performed their holiday shows, including Our Common Joy featuring the Ebenezer Gospel Choir. Many thanks to our amazing Winter House sponsors: Ansley Real Estate Molly Carter Gaines, Atlanta Party Rentals, Cynthia Baer, Your Neighborhood Realtor, Classic Entry Systems, Inc., Faith Flowers, Georgia Power Foundation, and Tradition Trees

TESTIMONIAL FROM ATTENDEES

“Great holiday experience! They have a classy library bar, snacks, and my favorite, the s'mores kit! The house is decorated very well for the season, and there are local artists showing their pieces on display upstairs, where you can talk to some of the teachers of their classes, and even paint an ornament or mug. Worth a stop!" "Winter house is a terrific experience, so glad they did it this year and a wonderful way to experience all that Callanwolde had to offer. Our community is certainly made better by this gem. Instructor John has an encyclopedic range of knowledge on all things pottery."
