during hours not considered as a part of their regular work day which normally occurs between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at a minimum. Emergency situations, i.e. no adjunct faculty available, may require teaching during those hours, but time must be made up on either end of the work day per agreement with the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Services. Program Coordinators and Lead Faculty Program Coordinator Definition Program Coordinator status is available for faculty whose academic program requires additional administrative work that does not fall within the area of expertise of the Division Director or as required by external accrediting bodies. Program Coordinators are eligible to earn release time or compensation using the same hourly conversion formula (1 credit = 37.5 hours) used for Alternative Assignments. The Program Coordinator reports to the Academic Division Director. Full-time/part-time faculty members responsible for campus-based program/discipline support perform the following duties: • Assist with interviewing and identifying part-time faculty for program/discipline; • Serve as the campus-based contact to college-wide program/discipline meetings; • Convene meetings of faculty within the discipline to discuss college-wide, discipline- related items; • Work with all faculty who want to discuss or work through topics related to their curriculum or to a specific course within their curriculum; • Designate official textbooks for each course; • Mentor part-time faculty in their specialty area; • Assist with part-time faculty training sessions; • Coordinate advisory committee membership and meetings for their specialty if applicable; • Recommend class scheduling and college-wide coordination for program/discipline; • Assist Division Director with annual reports for the College; • Recommend program staffing needs; • Collaborate on recruitment and retention activities with Admissions and Enrollment Management, as well as Retention and Registration; • Apply program outcomes data to make curriculum improvements; • Recommend program budget; • Recommend program development, technology, and revision when necessary; and • Support all advisory committees in their oversight area. Program Coordinator - Additional Responsibilities • Act as liaison with program’s health care community (if applicable); • Contribute to accreditation/recognition (if applicable); • Maintain laboratory and/or clinical supply inventory control (if applicable); • Support College curriculum committee meetings (as needed basis); • Assist in redevelopment of specialty rooms or labs, equipment, layout, use, curriculum, and course development (where applicable); • Ensure legal compliance; • Assist with grant administration and development; • Assist with adjunct faculty orientation; • Participate in unit planning;
