NI REGIONAL WINNER Haldane Fisher, Newry
HALDANE FISHER’S HEAD OFFICE IN NORTHERN IRELAND, HAS A LOT TO CELEBRATE...
N ot only did Haldane Fisher’s Newry branch scoop the Octabuild 2022 Overall Winner title, it also carried off the NI Regional Winner Award, beating off stiff competition from builders’ from around the province. Delighted with his branch’s double award tally, Gary Cranney, Haldane Fisher Newry Site Director put the efforts of his staff first and foremost as the reason they had won the NI Regional Winner title. “We’re only as strong as our weakest link,” Gary told NI Builder Magazine, “We strive to develop every single person in the company. It doesn’t matter what the role is, if you don’t do it right, the whole thing falls down. That’s the way we look it. “When I went up on stage to receive the Overall Winner award, I brought the whole of the table with me. It’s not my
award, it belongs to every one of the team.” Staff training is key with both internal and external training taking place regularly. “We like to develop our own people – we do that right across the company. For example, the manager of our mill production here in Newry started at Haldane Fisher as a Picker moving on to be a Machinist in the tool room and then Supervisor before taking on the Manager role. “We also employ qualified professionals from outside for specific roles, but we mix that with experience that we have on the ground. If you come to our shop counter, our guys know exactly what you’re looking for. They know because they have either worked in that store as a Picker or have come from that background.”
