D escribed by the Award’s judges as an “impressive store” with “highly developed management systems” Haldane Fisher Newry is this year’s overall winner of the Octabuild Builders’ Merchant of the Year award. The Newry branch also scooped the Northern Ireland Regional Winner Award! Keeping a pristine yard combined with holding the highest technical and management quality standards and impressive sustainability protocols has elevated this builders’ merchants, making it a most deserving winner of the overall Octabuild award.
Gary Cranney is the Haldane Fisher Newry site Director. He attributes the branch’s exceptional win to a number of factors. “Our store is extremely well-organised with clearly delineated walkways and traffic management systems. We use extensive signage to designate separate areas such as stock and systems, customers and goods inwards. “The judges were also particularly impressed with the extensive digitalised systems and procedures that we have in place, including our staff training programme and health and safety features. We use a cloud-based system for our health and safety training which is specifically geared towards builders’
